Just the book I needed. A dying community cut funding for the hospital, operating on a shoestring budget and no ER. Just the place for a group of bad guys to get help. The criminals don’t realize the doctor and paramedics are top notch and have military medic experience. This story had outstanding fight scenes, medical knowledge was impressive and the characters were very relatable. I’ve read a few of Lyons’ books and found them highly entertaining and educational. This author partnership is a home run and I’m hoping they continue to write together again. I was given an advanced copy and I’ve provided my review voluntarily.

This was a fast paced story that is great if you want a quick, exciting thriller to read.

I really liked Thomas, he was quite the character! In fact, most of the characters in this were great, even in such a short story they were given time and development to bring them alive. I also like that one of the authors has medical experience, it really shows in the writing and the medical scenes are more realistic than you usually see in fiction.

The action is good, fast paced and brutal in places although the violence is in keeping with the tone of the story. However, this is super fast paced, just enough time is spent on the main characters backstories to lend a little weight to the latter half but there would have been more emotional weight if we'd had more than one or two scenes with the character's pasts before the action.

I could see this as a tv movie, so would recommend it to readers looking for a couple of hours of escapism.

A brilliant medical action thriller that grabbed me by the throat and never let go. A perfect book to get lost in when you need a respite from life!

Resuscitation had me holding my breath from the first page until the last. It's demanding pace is relentless and I read the whole book in a couple of hours. I found the medical side intriguing and the hostage situation gets the blood pumping. Overall it's a brilliant read and now I just want more! I hope these two authors write more books because if Resuscitation is anything to go bye it's a winning combination.
