Love at First Sight is a (slightly) dark romance mafias book. The characters are cute, however I didn’t see any natural feeling being developed. It was just from one day to the next, ooh I love him. Did not like that, but maybe I just chose the wrong book. If you like mafia romances with a LOT of possessiveness mixed in, this is for you. I can think of a couple of people who might really enjoy this, not my cup of tea though.

Love At First Sight by Stina's Pen was utterly amazing.
I love mafia romances and can’t wait to read book two.

The concept of this book and the reality of it are miles apart. I have read my fair share of mafia romance so while I have certain expectations I also give more leeway that usual. This book needs a lot of work.

I was pulled in by the first chapter, but then it dragged down. I think a strong editing pass could fix a lot of problems that made this book hard to read. The biggest being the author's tendency for long-windedness. Each character is introduced with at least a page of background, there are pages and pages of background when it would have been more effective narratively woven into the story, everything is overexplained (every move, motive, thought is explained to death), and then on top of all of this there are pages of philosophical exposition which this is just not the genre for that. It was so so boring which considering there is kidnapping, reprisals, and other mafia activities happening really says a lot for how much white noise text is included. This is also one of the few times that I was infodumped but was still lost about the worldbuilding in a non-fantasy setting.

I think that there is a lot of potential here, but the execution made this just impossible to get through for me.

Stephan and Grace's chemistry is spicy hot. The plot and pace are amazing. I was hooked from the first paragraph. I read this book in one sitting.
If y'all like a great Mafia Romance, y'all will love this book. Can't hardly wait for book 2.
