Sexy second chance…

I started in the middle of this three-book story arc but I quickly came up to speed. Slate was targeted to be taken down by Rayna, an old love. I liked Slate, he seemed like a really decent guy so I needed to find out why he had let her down so badly. The agenda was clear and Rayna was nothing if not on task. I would call it revenge but it didn’t feel that mean (it really didn’t), even as her pursuit felt targeted (it was).

It was steamy and hot read with flashbacks ably filling me in on their past even as they moved forward. The plot was intriguing and the execution was solid, with Slate earning that extra half start honestly…
