"So many missed opportunities...so many mistakes."

Being a lover of rockstar romance, of course, I'd heard the buzz about the Groupie series. But I was late to the party. So, when Vanni was released as a prequel I decided to start at the beginning in spite of the fact that it was book four in the series. It was also my introduction to the writing of Ginger Voight.

When I started reading I thought it was going to be a love story, but that's not the case. It's more of a journey, an awakening. Vanni had to endure some pain and have his heart broken a time or three along the way. He made a lot of mistakes and had many regrets. But, he also realized that some things happen for a reason and he needed the experience under his belt to give him the understanding he would need later. If nothing else, his past and his pain make great song lyrics, right?

I enjoyed meeting Giovanni, the young Italian who refused to cut his hair. He refused to give up on his dream of being a rockstar. He didn't believe in a 'Plan B', and he had me believing in him too. I was a virtual groupie, so pumped and anxious to see it happen. I already had my blue band t-shirt picked out and my VIP All-Access lanyard designed. I was picturing the tour bus, but then reality hit when I realized all that is in the first three books that I haven't read yet. Guess I better get busy reading, huh?
