Not my usual cup of Tea, as a sun genre of fantasy, but we'll worth taking the leap. A book focused primarily on Courtly intrigue & political secrets.

Id classify this as historical fiction but rather than verbose, drab & slow to boil, this book comes at a brisk pace. Quickly we are confronted with the monarchs death and the central mystery...who belongs on the throne.?! But this brisk pace moves along to reveal a vipers nest within the court; a haven of spies & traitors.

With the story unfolding like a chess match—deliberate and strategic—yet it never drags, due to bursts of action and shocking revelations that keep the tension taut.
A thrilling & tense story that leaves the feeling that every whispered word could change the fate of the kingdom
