I started the trilogy but didn't finish it. The story was not original to me, it felt repetitive. The writing was good, though.

This book is the second novel in the Colours of Love series. In it, the story of Jonathan Huntington and Grace Lawson continues.
I personally feel that this was a bit better than the first book because it is not about just sex anymore but rather the relationship between Jonathan and Grace continues to grow and there are real feelings involved here. Of course, as in any story, things can't just be diamonds and roses and they do face a number of obstacles but it does make the story what it is and it makes it feel more real. Another thing that makes this book better than the first novel is the amount of feelings that it made me feel as a reader. It made me feel sad and happy and excited and nervous and to me that is what makes a book good. And the cherry on top, was the ending that just made me super-duper happy!

TORTURED HERO - SWEET HEROINE - 3 stars

#2 in the Colours of Love

Plot - 3 stars - Grace continues to work at Huntington Ventures, becoming more successful and confident in her job. Her relationship with Jonathan also shows signs of more intimacy now and then, but she's still struggling to get Jonathan to admit his feelings. Most of this book is about their growing personal relationship and how they both deal with it, uncovering a few family secrets along the way.

Writing - 3 stars - Despite the fact that this book has been translated from its original German, I found it easy to read. There were a couple of odd phrases here and there, but mostly it was very smooth.

Characters - 3 stars - We see the story through Grace's eyes. She began this series as an innocent and naïve girl interning in England from her small-town background in America. But she's strong and determined, despite the fact that she melts whenever Jonathan touches her. She's an interesting mix of soft and hard, sweet and cunning. She tends to the overly-dramatic quite a bit, especially at the end, but otherwise she's quite likable. Jonathan, on the other hand, is all hard lines and untouchable walls. He shows signs of sweetness and romance from time to time, but they are only fleeting moments. But it still indicates that there's a softer man underneath that hard shell. He's intriguing. And, of course, the fact that he's rich and successful and handsome doesn't hurt.

Title - 4 stars - It's clear that the title refers to the fact that Grace is continuing to try to get to know Jonathan better, uncovering his crusty and defensive layers to find the loving man she knows is underneath.

Cover - 3.5 stars - Lovely cover, although I'm not quite sure what the feathers represent.

Overview - 3 stars - This series continues to surprise me with its intensity and interest. I've become caught up in the characters, although Grace's dramatics bother me with her over-the-top adoration for Jonathan. The story was fairly quiet, although there were a couple of family revelations that helped move the story forward. Otherwise, there's not a lot going on--just a few office moments in between their many sexual encounters, which never seem to lose their intensity. I will still continue with this series to see how it all ends.

Sad to say I couldn't ever get into the story. I tried.. Repeatedly but nothing held my interest.
