The Marazion Murders is book 6 in the Cornwall Murder Mystery series. I'm going to be honest with you peeps, I haven't read the five preceding books. I've never let that stop me before though, and reading this one without the benefit of background context didn't really detract from my enjoyment of it. 🔎
The premise was simple; someone has begun murdering residents at Silver Ferns Care Home, a care home for former actors and entertainers. Who is targeting the victims, and why? That's what DI Lauren Pegalley, DS Matt Price and their team must find out, before the body count rises. 🔎
This was an easy read, with no complex plotting or plot twists. The characters are likeable, even the killer. If you like no nonsense, old fashioned murder mysteries, then this is the book for you. Can be read as a standalone. 🔎

Cozy murder mystery set in a "care" home for elderly actors. Likeable characters, plot develops well as more murders occur and we learn.more about the "cast" of home. One by one the actors are being murdered. Is it because of the memoirs they are having written and are potential secrets revealed the reason for the murders? Read and enjoy.

A quick and interesting read. I have enjoyed the Cornwall Murder mystery series so far. Lauren has settled in nicely, and her team are top notch with research and theories.
Clem is one of my favourite characters - all that knowledge he imparts! He has seemingly useless information in his brain, but this time, he helps to crack the case!

Loved the book and looking forward to the next one.

Another fantastic book in the DI Pengelly series although it could very much be read as a standalone book too. Great characters that you get into very easily, not just the (regular) main characters but the ones for this book. A great, uncomplicated storyline too, that keeps you intrigued/wanting to read on to see what happens next. Definitely a book to recommend!

I found this to be an easy going crime read which continues to have a lot of warmth and camaraderie between the main characters and some more unusual murders for them to investigate this time. The setting was interesting with the different personalities amongst the care home residents and it was intriguing to discover the thought process behind the different murders. This wasn’t especially a page turner but there was enough to keep me engrossed and I did enjoy catching up with the series. 9/10

This is an interesting and thought provoking story with some memorable poignant moments.

Sally Rigby is a talented mystery author and I usually greatly enjoy her books, this one, although it was well-written with intriguing twists wasn't my personal favorite.

The story was not as captivating as the author's standard fare. The whole thing felt like a "try" at a cozy by a writer who excels at police procedurals, my favorite genre.

I look forward to Sally's next police procedural (if it ain't broke don't fix it).
