I requested this title back before my blogging break. I have ended up with a number of titles that are overwhelming to catch up on now I am back from my blogging break. I am regretfully not going to be reading and reviewing this title, but now I am back from my blogging break, I am looking forward to reading and reviewing some of your future titles. Thank you so much for the opportunity and apologies.

I wish I had known that this was the second book of a series before requesting, so I'll be sure to pick up the first book before digging into this one. I've heard amazing things from readers and around the blogosphere about this series so I'm excited to dive in. Thank you for the opportunity to read it.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review which has not altered my opinion.

This book took me a while to get through, but it was overall well done and I enjoyed it. I liked the flashback even though it confused me at first, and I’m so glad that the story makes a lot more sense to me now. There was much more character development throughout this story and we really got to know what was going on with the different castles and why magic is so prevalent in Pyrmont Castle.

I enjoyed this book more than the first one, but I think parts of it was still a bit awkward for me. I will say that in order for me to completely understand the first book, I had to finish the second book as well which really didn’t work for me.

Overall, this series was not my favorite and I’m not sure if I’m going to read more by the author. But if you want to read a short book series about witch hunts then this would be one that would probably come up. Nothing dirty really, there is some violence, but yea it was good! 3 out of 5.
