A great guide for families, educators, librarians, or individuals looking to add more nature to their lives. Louv's past books talk about the reasons we need more exposure to the outdoors, mentally, emotionally, and physically. His most recent book discusses hundreds of ways to do just that with accessible resources and lists of guidebooks to make it happen. A treasure!
This book is a wonderful collection of good ideas for how children and adults can benefit from being outdoors, as well as the knowledge about science and nature which leads people to understanding and learning from nature. For instance, it talks about different ways to "see" outdoors with eyes, ears, and old-fashioned "GPS." I started reading thinking that it would be most beneficial for my students and children, but found that most of it helped me, too. I highly recommend it!
