Boy oh boy do I love Meghan March's alpha men! Simon, Con, Lord and now a closer look at Mr. Lucas Titan. Gah, I even love his name! While the book can be read as a stand alone, I recommend reading the others in the series as they are fan-friggin-tastic!

We have met Yve in previous books, however didn't get to know her as well as we do this time around. The girl is tough as nails and has a reason for that. Not wanting to repeat the mistakes of her family's past, Yve is bound and determined to make it on her own. Sure the baggage she carries around gets heavy, which is why the walls around her heart are pretty dang high. She has her weak moments, just like everyone else.

"...you can break and not worry about falling apart. Just for today Yve, let me hold you together." ~ Titan

Titan, is that you? Lucas Titan is carrying around as much baggage as Yve, but doesn't hide it as well as she does. Everybody knows hes a pri@k and Titan is mighty proud of it. He didn't get where he was without taking chances, every one closer to proving his father he was wrong about him all those years ago. While wanting to save face in front of the politicians he needs help from by dating debutantes and "the right girls", Titan wants Yve Santos, from the second she opened her smart mouth.

"I was not a good man. I didn't have a heart of gold; I had a heart that knew how to make gold." ~ Titan

He was the man for her. She didn't know it yet, but she would learn soon enough. Titan and Yve make a deal in which there are no strings attached and the walls they have erected around their hearts are safe. While they navigate this, the past is creeping up on them fast, trying to throw a wrench in the "relationship" they've established. Well, for Yve anyway, Titan's his own wrench, always thinking he's a bad guy and not good enough for her.

"Titan was a damn puzzle. And I didn't have time to solve the path through his twisty brain these days."~ Yve

While I loved, loved, loved, Titan, I wasn't the biggest fan of Yve. I never really connected with her character, although I realized she needed to be that way to play off of Titan the way she did. Any other girl would have melted into a puddle with how he treated them. So while I got it, she wasn't my favorite female of the series.

"No one makes it through life without scars. It's impossible. But they're not signs of shame; they're badges of honor showing that you fought and survived. That's why I've never hidden mine, but you've never moved on." ~ Yve

Again, the book is a great addition to the series. Meghan March loves her a beautiful, broken man that's for sure. Well written from dual points of view, we get a sexy, suspenseful story and a bit of a set up for the next one. I can't wait!

This was a book that hit me hard. Both characters are fantastic--and that's a rare find. Strong alpha male, woman who needs protection even if she doesn't want it. It's the perfect blend of sexy, swoony, and alpha hotness.
Give me more of this series!

This book had all the good shit. Good people, good plot, good flow, good dick, good danger, good ending.

Yve & Lucas are super good together. March did an amazing job with the bits of background for each character. They were easy to follow and succinct.
