(I received a free copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.)
This is the story of Tommi, a young Scottish woman living an ordinary life, who stumbles violently into her birthright as the world's most powerful werewolf. The sudden appearance of a dark, mysterious (and very attractive) guardian further confuses her as her powers begin to develop and she begins to understand that her life can never be the same again. The reader will be swept up in Tommi's journey as she's thrown into the middle of a centuries-old battle and a world peopled with expert warriors and vicious enemies - this is the start of a series - and a world - you will fall in love with.
I don't like to leave 1-star reviews.
But I could possibly do so here.
Why?
* Apparently, we needed to be reminded over and over and OVER that Tommi had blue hair. Seriously, how stupid do you think the reader is?
* Also, Tommi just happens to have the most amazing skills and talents and is THE most powerful werewolf EVER! EVER!!!!!
* She is also sarcastic, witty, clever, sassy...you know, just like every other female urban fantasy lead... *sigh*
* The sexual aspects of this book were both disturbing and cheesy. In one moment, there is a graphic description of a sexual assault, the next minute has the author using primary school terms for the word "vagina" - you know, 'hoo-ha'...like WTF?
And those are the highlights...
Really, just a bad book that should have been far, far better...

I really enjoyed this one. Not sure why I put off reading it for so long, but I'm glad that I finally did. This one had me pretty much right from the start when Tommi goes to NZ.
So many things happen and so fast but its written in just the right way. I loved the secondary characters and of course Lorcan was a fave of mine. I enjoyed the way Lewis wrote about the werewolf transformation and the pain it causes. There was plenty of info about the other Were Packs around and then there were a hell of a lot of shocks at the end of the book.
Definitely interested to see where Lewis takes the story next.
Would recommend.
