2.5 stars I'm rounding up. I'm a bit torn. I did like the characters and getting to know them. I thought the scene in which they meet - the club - a little too close to another paranormal romance so I was put-off at first. But I did like how they connected and worked together. I liked the supporting cast and their stories and how they all worked - or didn't - together

But I found the story very confusing to start. There are a lot of terms I didn't know at first and I didn't feel like they were all fully explained later. I definitely got lost on a few details that might have been because I'm sick but I just didn't follow all the little things 100%. It's one of the few times I wouldn't have minded a little info-dump, just to catch me up.

I did find it a bit long but it did have a few devices to keep the story going and the plot was engaging. I'm glad I finally gave this one a try but I'm not sure it stands out well from others in the same genre. It was okay but I didn't love it.

A huge thank you to the author and publisher for providing an e-ARC via Netgalley. This does not affect my opinion regarding the book.

I downloaded this book back in 2015, when I first discovered and joined NetGalley and the synopsis of this book drew me in immediately. In retrospect, I vaguely remembered having a good time reading this book and even though I couldn't say I recalled everything about the story, I'd still recommend it to younger adults or teens as it was a quick, fast-paced fantasy. Thanks to the publisher for approving one of my very first requests here on NetGalley.

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

This has been on my TBR pile for so long, and I'm glad I finally got around to it. I really enjoyed the storyline and seeing the characters change throughout the story was a great character development. The plot was great and kept my attention. I'm glad I got the chance to read this and will be on the lookout for more in the future!

I really enjoyed this book. I thought the world was different from other books I have read, which was nice. I enjoyed the two main characters, Cole and Kade. I thought they were really good together, and I loved their story. The only reason why I gave this four stars instead of five is that the first third of the story was pretty slow. There was a lot of world building, which I found to be necessary, but it was still very slow and hard for me to get through. However, I loved the story after that. I definitely want to read the rest of this series, and I am excited to see where it goes.

Quickly into reading Crystallum, I realized how much of an absolute gem Crystallum is and ended up reading Kade's story in a little more than one sitting. The story was that addicting. -- I simply could not get enough.

There were two things that I simply did not like: 1.) the jealousy that Cole's ex had towards Kade. Ugh -- simply put, this character is really freaking annoying. I just know she's going to turn up in the next book and be a pest.

The second thing that I didn't like in Crystallum was the stereotypical, not exactly love-triangle, but the whole "She's mine." scenario. There were a few scenes that are like that  in this book.

So there are multiple points of view that we read from within Crystallum. However, the two main points of view we read from are both Kade and Cole, with Kade having more of a standpoint, since this is her story.

The fact that we had not one, but two plot twists that happened in this story simply blows my mind. I wasn't expecting any plot twists, but holy smokes!!! What ended up happing, and what we end up learning about Kade and her back story actually shocked me, and I immediately felt so sorry for Kade and her situation. I honestly would not wish Kade's childhood on anyone.

I actually like the fact that while the storyline kinda-somewhat-not-really has  Angels and Demons, but in a more unique way of going about it. And I believe that's why I ended up enjoying Crystallum so much ---- because this book isn't heavily steeped in any religion, yet it has a higher-being status.

The tension within the story actually started almost right away. And with that, I ended up reading the book way faster than I thought I would. Near the 60% mark there was also a ton of anticipation for something bigger to happen and I ended up walking around my house and saying things like "What the fuck?!" and "Oh my god!"

The attraction that Kade has toward her love interest is *excuse the pun* electrifying and I was living for it.

As you can tell, for all intents and purposes, I ended up enjoying all of Crystallum honestly. And I am overjoyed and relieved by that. I thought for the longest time that I wouldn't end up liking Crystallum, or just Kade's story in general. I am happy that I did enjoy reading this book.

And that end scene?! Gosh. I'm apprehensive to read the next book, just because I don't know what happens. At the same time though, I want to know what happens because how can you not, with an ending like the one in Crystallum?? I'm slow to choose to read the second book, whenever I do, because I like where the chatacters and the story stands within Crystallum.

Great book! Had me not wanting to put it down. Could not wait to see how it was going to end.

What a deliciously written, skillfully paced novel! Readers are blessed with characters that are absolutely beyond compelling and the plot sticks with you even after you're finished. Will be reading again!
