When a Duke, marries a governess to protect her, when she tells him she's been spying on him- the beginning and the situation was a bit strange, But its a wonderful book, James is the perfect gentleman he teaches her to protect herself, from Suvarette the French spy who murdered her brother, and bribed her, to find out about James, if he was funding a revolution. Together they bring Suvarette to justice. The book over all was really nice, but the only part I found boring was the part they were teaching her (Vivian) to fight and defend herself it was long and dragging. The rest of the book was fast paced.
