Lola’s mommy battles with her daughter made me smile. Who hasn’t experienced the sulks and tantrums from a kid? That set the tone for the whole book. Everything feels authentic.
The ex-military PTSD was fairly predictable, but well done. Much of the other action and problems was more interesting.
The Native American cultural background was okay, but there were too few examples.
