I like this book precisely because it involves you - the reader/the owner of the house. The authoress, a designer, understand her job and is very willing to let you know some quite useful tips, yet her most useful gift to her reader is giving you the task - what do YOU want your house to serve for, to make you feel like, to be for you? Without this knowledge, any designer can help you to make a house, but not A HOME. Sounds easily, right? Yet it is not. And I am glad that Ms Rien goes this way of teaching the owner to be responsible (or better, to be true owner) of the space. To know it, to take it into consideration, to build a relationship with it.
And the many tips are truly useful. I gained a lot of wisdom here.
Recommended book.

At first glance this home design guide is for people who hate the home that they're in, but in actuality it's for anyone who wants to improve their living space. It's easy to use, incredibly personable and conveniently categorized for easy accessibility. And though I only have 2 rooms that I really need to pay attention to, I found other tips and tricks that I was able to offer to the house at large. A great addition to my collection of home-improvement books!
