4 out of 5 stars. About ten years ago, a stupid mistake landed Gen (Genny/Genevieve) into the hospital and forced her best friend away from her. Now, she seems to finally be moving on with her life and after a surprising accident that led to a co-worker dying, Gen wants to complete the bucket list that she created when she was fifteen. Yet, the same day that she pushes forth with moving on who happens to waltz back into her life? Why her old best friend and crush, Chance, of course! Will she be able to prove to him once-and-for-all what a bad decision he made way-back-when or will he show her that what happened ten years ago isn’t what it actually seemed? Stay tuned!

This novel! Oh this novel! I LOVED it but wasn’t a total fan of how it ended. I mean don’t get me wrong I’m not trying to copout on this book review, it just that there is soooo much I’d love to discuss on this novel about the characters but then it would be one spoiler after another. So, the basic facts are that I LOVED its plot, its characters, and almost EVERY scene up until “the weddings.” Yet, by that point, the other character just broke up the amazing flow the novel had going for it. And it made me go from 5 stars to 4 stars ... BUT I STILL LOVE THE CHARACTERS AND WILL RECOMMEND IT TO ANY ROMANCE LOVER!!

I read this novel without reading ANY of the other novels within this series. And I was not lost! Plus, Ms. Clarke gave really great background knowledge of Chance’s brothers so you’ll never feel left out in this novel.

And Chance, oh my Chance! I think I may be in love. Wow! His intensity and domineering presence made him a force to be reckoned with yet I LOVED how he LOVED Gen!! Their relationship was brilliantly written because though they were apart for so long Chance’s personal redemption felt so real that I wanted to root for them from the start. Especially how they seemed to just fit one another and how he took her issues in complete stride. *happy sigh*

Like I stated above, I HIGHLY recommend this novel to those wanting a unique contemporary romance to read!!
