Light Love Rituals Bulgarian Myths Legends and Folklore by Ronesa Aveela

270 Pages
Publisher: Bendideia Publishing
Release Date: May 26, 2015

Nonfiction, Folklore, Mythology, Religion, Spirituality, Multicultural Interest, Bulgaria, Trace, Greek, Cooking, Food

The book is divided into the following sections.

Winter
Spring
Summer
Fall
Maria’s Kitchen

The author explains how the title of the book came about. The pencil drawings are very good. She also includes a fictional family to explain the different rituals. It is written in the third person point of view. There are instructions to make crafts used in rituals or to honor the season. At the end of each section there are questions asking what the reader learned.

The recipes in Maria’s Kitchen have photos and detailed instructions. They remind me of Greek food I have had over the years in Tarpon Springs and in Greece. Although this is listed as an adult nonfiction book, it is written towards children or young adults. This would be a good book for someone interested in Bulgarian history.
