Never going to get sick of Darynda Jones book. I knew this series was coming to a close and wanted to slowly savor the rest of the books in the series. Took me long enough but falling into the world, and back into these characters was like wrapping yourself in a familiar old blanket. I adore her humor, her writing, her character development and the worlds she weaves just makes me crave more.

I have slowly made my way through all the books in this series and decided to review as a whole. These are amazing. Funny, smart with characters to love. They have made a believer out of me that PNR can be for me!!!

"In a small village in New York Charley Davidson is living as Jane Doe, a girl with no memory of who she is or where she came from." Charley broke apart at the end of the last book in the series when she learned her true celestial name, and after having to give up her little Beep to keep her safe, and ended up in Sleepy Hollow, New York, with amnesia. It was really fun to watch Charley learn that she could see dead people and not know what to do with that information. She started out all alone but soon became part of the family at the diner where she worked, along with a new waitress named Cookie (and her husband Robert), and a very sexy new fry cook named Reyes Farrow. She also had a couple of very handsome new regulars named Osh and Garrett. Unfortunately, the gang agreed that they had to let Charley regain her memories all on her own, although it was amusing to watch Charley interact with them. Soon, though, things took a serious and dangerous turn (it's Charley, so of course!), and everyone had to pull together to save lives and solve mysteries. We got answers to some of our questions, but ended up with even more questions, which will hopefully be answered in the next book, which I've already got queued up!

5/5 stars.

My heart was mildly dying as I started this book with Charley not knowing who she was. But seeing the team gather around her, knowing they had her back, helped the heartache from the last book. Even though Charley doesn't know who she is, she is still Charley at her core and figures out how to help others. This book is almost like being everyone again for the first time.

The Dirt on Ninth Grave is the 9th book in the Charley Davidson series. After the events of book 8, Charley has amnesia and she's working as a waitress in Sleepy Hollow, NY. Her sister is is a psychiatrist tells everyone that Charley needs to come out of it on her own. In order to protect her, her loved ones go to Sleepy Hollow and are in her life in new ways, under assumed names. To me this kind of had the feel of the Archer tv series when Archer is in a coma and each season is a different era or environment but with the same characters playing different roles. I enjoyed this change up and felt it was a nice break from the drama of the last few books. I also feel like this book had the vibe of the early books about Charley and friends. I kind of wish she could go on solving crimes and being snarky forever, - kind of like how I like the monster episodes of Supernatural and The X-Files and enjoy the bigger agendas (Angels vs Demons and Aliens vs Government Conspiracies) a lot less. But I know the series has to move forward and the end is coming in just a few more books. It was fun to have this last nod to the way things used to be.

I started this series and read the first 8 books back to back. When I went back to read the next 4 I was immediately able to jump back in to the story. I love this author and these characters. The world building and storyline are so good and well developed!

What a fascinating book. I was impressed by the storyline and the characters were all well written and complex. Where there are complex storylines combined with intriguing characters the reader experience is magnified tremendously. To have a book that is well written as well as entertaining is a delight. Reading is about escaping your world and entering another one. The word building was phenomenal in this book. Here I forgot about my own life and was immersed in the world created by the author. I would recommend this book.

Another great book in the Charley Davidson series!: Charley losing her memory was so frustrating with everyone being around her but not helping her get her memory back. I'm eager for the next one.

Another great one! I really enjoyed how this one was written. It was filled with the great humor and one liners we can always expect from Charlie. It was a little more emotional for me than some of the others in the series and I caught myself sniffling a time or two. Can’t wait to start the next one!

Years ago I binged this series and eagerly awaited each new title....but then I just sort of fell out of love with them. When I requested this I had intentions of reading it but at this point I'm more sure if I'll ever return to this world to finish the series.

There is also dirt in this one by the time you get to it. Memory seems to have taken a vacation leaving her she still has to go on. What she learns is more than the average person could handle but this is Charley whom also has some fabulous guardians. Oh and that cook he spikes the chemistry and has the blood heating but truth is not his forte it would seem to her. She has to make decisions though and carry on or death could be the next one she takes a vacation with.

This review is going to be for the rest of the series overall. I read the last of the books in quick succession and enjoyed them all equally. I'm glad that I enjoyed it as much as I did. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more from Darynda Jones in the future.

I love the whole series. I've read and listened to the series multiple times. Charley is appreciatively grumpy and snarky. I, too, have an appreciation for coffee and enchiladas. And sarcasm. (General Review for series books 1-12)

I requested all the books in the series when they were available, but decided not to continue past book 3. I will not be reviewing this book.

Charley is back to being her crazy, sarcastic self. If only she could remember who she is. Her crew rallies around her.
A nice refresh to the Series.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor.

The Dirt on Ninth Grave is the ninth book in the Charley Davidson series. This can be read as a standalone, though personally I think you should read the books in order written so you fully understand the storyline. There is violence and sex. I really enjoy this series. It is the perfect mix of paranormal and romance. Plus, you gotta love a gal who loves coffee as much as I do
