How real this story felt... How much you can and may relate to it. I found myself reading the book and contemplating just how much this relates to so many. But only you will know once you grab yourself a copy of this book. But I will also say this, even though this is a fictional read, it's still not one to take lightly as you may see things in yourself or other that relate to the story.

A surprise adoption, losing your parents, getting a letter from you biological dad, and having your 14 year old daughter lose her virginity is a lot for any woman to handle. Meet Ruby…she has all this to deal with and more. As a struggling single parent to a teenager she is called home to meet her sick biological dad that she didn’t even know existed. She handled it all with a grace, patience, and understanding. Ruby was strong, even when she thought she would crack from the pressure. She stood up to the challenges that would have pushed most people over. I love her.

Every character in The Promise of Forgiveness is loving, understanding, and in need of forgiveness. I wanted everyone to find their happy place and be there with people who will trust and support them in their journeys. The path each character takes is perfectly intertwined with each other. They are not always the easy or straight path, but it is the path that they have to travel to get where they belong. Sometimes they didn’t even know where they were heading.

The Promise of Forgiveness is a wonderful book. The story is heart tugging and beautiful. The characters are amazing. I recommend picking up your copy now.

Thomas’s women’s fiction debut takes a heartfelt look at the complexities inherent in familial relationships. It’s authentic, poignant, and will have you turning pages well past bedtime.
