My first introduction to the world of steampunk. And I loved it!

Suchan adventure! People falling from the sky...? Mysterious mayhaps around town...? Let's take to the skies and figure it all out. I'm a fan of the book. I'm a fan of the characters. I'm wondering if the author has written any sequels or companion books?

This is a fun high-flying adventure! Definitely recommend!

It's a clean read too. You and your young teens can enjoy together.

A man who does not think that he is a hero - or worth a lot, when you really go deep to his soul. A woman from a different world. A child who suffers and does not really know why.
And a diesel punk slash aviation fantasy.
And it works together.

I like this one - for its very creative set-up (think Jules Verne vs any georgeous Golden Era movie feelings), for the realistic transformation of kind (or process of maturity) of one man, for the truly interesting heroine with spine and heart, for all the realistic relationships. And for the usage of Russian language - and correct, at that! I speak Russian, so this usage gives me a better "view" into the plot.
Hitch is a believable hero - who needs grow a lot, but who also has heart and capacity for it. He is a heo of nowadays, too - the one to run and chase his dreams, but who ia bottling up his feelings and the painful incidents of his life. I am happy that he got his chance for a breakthrough the walls of his heart, which have been invisible, but present (even for him).
Jael is a believably red-blooded heroine with setup of values, who can believably inspire men. And that is not often the case in the realms of literature, that you can believe that about female heroines - to be able to inspire.

So why 4 stars? This is truly nuanced, but a very long book. I understand the passion and love to address a lot of nuances and details, yet the length makes for steam to go off a bit. Especially when you get a realistic feel of how it is going to end.

But having said all that - I enjoyed reading this book. Fingers crossed for the authoress to continue to write books that are both deep and creative!
