Hurricane Danielle is on the way, and Jillian has to evacuate with her next-door neighbor, troubled former quarter back River and his father. Trapped on the highway in bumper-to-bumper traffic, River decides to make a run for it, and Jillian tags along.

The two teens seek shelter from the storm in their school, and come together as River faces the dark truth of his past troubles and they must work to survive the storm.
