This book on the origins of various games, everything from cricket to American football, is a good reference for readers who want to learn about the origin of their favorite games without having to slog through a lot of back story. The grids that accompany each description are a nice touch and like the games, they vary in their content. Some are about the evolution of the uniform, some are about lingo used in talking about the sport and some simply give more information. A book that I will keep for reference and come back to many times.
