I'm going to give this a good 4.25 stars.

I love everything I've ever read of Renee Rose's. She gets into her characters' heads really well and really lets you figure out what makes them tick. I love that.

Summer is the daughter of the local mafia don. She's just gone through a crappy breakup and her self-esteem is in the toilet. Her ex cheated on her, ran her down, and made her feel like she's about 2 inches tall. So now she's trying to get some of her power back. And the way she does that? She goes and strips at a local club. She loves to dance and she loves the power that all those guys thinking she's sexy gives her. It's all going along swimmingly until she sees Carlo, the underboss walk in.

Carlo sees Summer taking off her clothes and shaking what her mama gave her on the stage, and he hits the roof. After he came to Chicago from Sicily because his brother arranged to have him killed, he stayed with her family, and started falling in love with her from the very first time he saw her. Now, 8 years later, he's going to make sure that she gets her life back together, no matter how many times he has to take a belt to her bottom.

I loved how much power exchange goes on in this book. It's a pretty heavy D/s relationship between the two of them, which works out really well for both of them. Summer is very much a submissive type, and when Carlo takes her in hand, she starts to be able to get herself back to herself.

Overall, I really liked the story, but I felt like some of the bits with Carlo's brother had kind of been tacked on and the book would've been just as good without that bit in there.

Loved this book - 5 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

All I can say is WOW !!

Started this book last night intending to read just a few Chapters & was immediately hooked !!!

I absolutely loved Carlo & Summer’s story! Renee Rose is a new author for me & I will definitely be checking out more of her books.

Summer is the daughter of the Don that Carlo works for - but he is like family - when he walks into a strip club & finds Sumner stripping all hell breaks loose. He has been attracted to her for years but it’s always been hands off..,

I really like that the author wrote Summers characters with flaws - she has gone thru a bad breakup & lost her feelings of self worth / confidence due to her ex constantly putting her down & making her feel not good enough. Carlo sees this in her and wants to give these things back to her as he knows it’s been several months since she has been happy ...

These 2 are just combustible together ! Although Carlo is portrayed as a dominant there are several sides to his personality- those of caring , kindness, commitment- loyalty all the things Summer needs to bring her back to her confident self ...

This is just a feel good romance from beginning to end !! Highly recommmend this author & book !!

I received an arc from Netgalley. I was kind of conflicted by this book. On the one hand Carlo said he had feelings for years but yet I didn’t feel the book was descriptive enough to give off that vibe. That being said Carlo and Summer definitely had chemistry and the ending of the story made the whole book.

Because I had mixed feelings I would give this book 3.5 stars and would definitely read more by this author.

After a bad relationship leaves her feeling less than, Summer begins stripping to fill the hole that’s left from, not only her feelings of inadequacy, but to fulfill her need to dance. When her father’s right hand man finds her on stage, she’s left with few options. Being the Don’s daughter she must live by certain standards and her current occupation does not fit in with those expectations.

Carlo is shocked when he finds Summer scantily dressed and dancing before a room full of men. He’s always watched her, always been drawn to her but since her breakup with the douche he’s noticed that she’s lost a part of herself. Having no choice but to inform her father, he escorts her from the club. However, before he realizes what he’s doing, he’s agreed to forgo sharing his knowledge with the Don and instead exerting his own form of punishment in order to teach her a lesson.

Renee Rose is known for her spanking books and this is definitely that. It’s hot and sultry and what I expect a true look into such a relationship of dom/sub would be. But it’s also got a bit of family drama, some suspense, and a tad of angst.

I loved the way Carlo saw only Summer. His sole purpose was to take care of her, to ensure she was healthy both physically and emotionally. And if that overlapped with his dominant nature, then it was a good thing she enjoyed that part of him. He’s totally controlling, completely alpha, and extremely sexy. This is the type of book that’s going to set your kindle on fire!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley and Riverdale Avenue Books. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

When you pick up or download a book by Renee Rose you know four things:
1 – It will be well-written.
2 - The plot will make sense and the heroine will not be TSTL.
3 – There will be a lot of sex.
4 – There will be spanking of an adult woman.

“The Don’s Daughter,” the third and final book of Rose’s “Bossman” series has all four of those elements, and great fun it is, too. This is a modern erotic romance, not great literature, but it is well-written, and properly edited, unlike so many romance books. The plot flows along, and conflicts grow out of the personalities of the characters, or the situations in which they find themselves, not from out of left field. The people in Rose’s books in general, and in this one in particular, seem real and have realistic agency.

There is certainly a lot of sex in this book, again, well-written and it never seems gratuitous as if she were checking it off on a list. There is a fair amount of spanking; if this is not your thing it is easy to skip.

If you are looking for a quick, enjoyable romance by an accomplished author, you could do worse than reading “The Don’s Daughter,” a lot worse in fact. I have one quibble with the book, and it is so tiny I am almost embarrassed to mention it, but I will. Rose uses “blond” for a female character; I much prefer to see “blond” for a male and “blonde” for a woman. Seriously, that is my only complaint about this delightful book.

I was given an ARC of this book from the publisher and NetGalley for my honest opinion.

I love Renee Rose, and her books never disappoint. With a steamy plot line, and even steamier man... Carlo. Although I have not read the other book in the series this book worked out well as a stand alone.

Summer becomes a stripper as a whole bunch of circumstances lead her there, but that all changes when her fathers right hand man spots her dancing and has a very different opinion on how Summer should spend her time.

Renee Rose's characters, plot and sex scenes are all memorable, and this book was no different. There is a bit of scandal, a bit of drama and of course a whole lot of love.

This is the third book in The Bossman series and our protagonists are Carlo and Summer. Carlo moved to America 8 years ago, when his brother –don of their “family” in Sicily- felt threaten by him and tried to kill him. Carlo is part of the La Torre Chicago mafia working for Summer’s father. Summer has just exited a two years relationship, and her self-esteem is low. She used to be a dancer, but she had to let down all her dreams when she had a serious injury on her knee. Summer has been working as a stripper the last 5 months not for the money but because it made her feel sexy. However, this will have to change when Carlo will find her unexpectedly dancing on the strip club and like that their love story will fly off.
I found this third book better than the first two with a depth and I had the impression that the author worked more in describing the mafia world and giving deep analysis to the characters’ feelings. I liked the fact that she mentioned other underground groups and introducing to the Russian mafia. To be honest it spiked an interest of when I get to know what happening with the Russian guy.

Concerning the erotic scenes, once again they revolve around spanking. To be completely honest I felt a repetition of the spanking scenes of the first two books; even the reference to a spanking with the wood kitchen spoon. It does not feel real. All these people so far three couples from the same environment are so into spanking? And when they meet they do what? Exchange experiences?
I would prefer in order to make it believable at least the author to try to give different erotic characteristic into her characters and differentiate each couple.

Anyway summing up, if you like hot spanking erotic scenes, and you do not mind repetition, you will love this book. Since the book conveys the mafia atmosphere beautifully and delves into the characters feelings.

I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review. Great book. Romance between the Don’s daughter and Carlo the Don’s number one man gives new meaning to courting trouble. Luckily it all worked out for a HEA. The sex and the discipline was well written and a great read. I would highly recommend this book.

The soul bearing love shared between Summer and Carlo is perfectly displayed throughout the entire book. I love how unashamed and submissive she becomes to the man she loves! I was not expecting the family to approve at all that was an amazing twist of fate that only brought them closer. This book pulled me right in and I couldn't put it down!

This is my first Renee Rose book and I wasn’t disappointed. Carlo’s brother Mario wanted him dead. The youngest of 8 children it never occurred to him that his father might want him to take over the “family” once the sick Don had passed but Mario didn’t want to take any chances so he took out a contract on his brother’s life. So at the age of 23 Carlo was shipped from his home in Sicily to America to his Zia Maria’s brother Alberto, so he would be safe from his brother. The book picks up eight years later. Summer never imagined herself stripping at The Candy Store, but a serial cheating boyfriend who stripped her of her pride, a career ending injury that ruined any chance as a ballerina, Mafia Don Al La Torre’s little girl had no other options. Of course, God forbid her dad ever finds out. But that might soon change when she spies Carlo, her father’s right hand man and “foster brother” walk into the club. But see her he did and he was going to drag her g stringed bottom right out of the club. Her days dancing as Milan at The Candy Store were over. Begging him not to tell her father what she had been doing she pleads with Carlo to punish her instead. Summer hadn’t been spanked since she was a child, it Carlo’s belt wasn’t going easy on her...he always had a soft spot for summer..now if he could just keep from getting a hard spot. But Summer has been secretly lusting after Carlo since she was 17 and Carlo wasn’t immune to Summer either. The next night a drunk Summer calls him from a bar. Carlo races to pick her up and in the car she confesses she doesn’t like living alone and can they go to his house? Carlo agrees but knows this is still something her father won’t like and he owes everything to Al La Torre. After another spanking Carlo warned Summer, if she spent the night, she was his. Summer agreed. How Carlo would explain this to her father had yet to be decided. There’s a lot of grit to this story and a lot of sex. The pacing is fluid and the characters relatable. Although part of a series it’s a total stand alone.

'The Don's Daughter' by Renee Rose is Book Three in "The Bossman" series. This is the story of Summer and Carlo. I haven't yet read the other books in this series so for me this was a standalone book.
Carlo around the age of 23, had to leave his home about 8 years ago after a family member put a 'hit' on him. His uncle sent him to some family in America where he became a main solider for Summer's Dad. Carlo's became his 'adopted son' but that didn't stop Carlo from wanting Summer...but it did stop him from acting on it.
Summer just had a hard breakup about 6 months ago where her boyfriend was cheating on her. In addition, he mentally took away her self esteem. To try and get it back Summer took on a stripping job at The Candy Store business.
But Carlo caught her there and now he is wanting to tell her father but she talks him into 'punishing' her himself. Carlo's agrees, but then it leads to them start acknowledging that they want each other.
Overall...pretty exciting and hot story!
"My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."

Nothing like an Italian mobster to sweep you off your feet ...especially when his name is Carlo...the name just rolls off the tongue and screams good sex. This was a good read. I will admit I can't stand a leading lady to be a simpering wimp without a back bone but Summer grew on me. I get how a man can use words to tear down your self esteem and make you believe you aren't worthy. While this was sexy erotica at its best, there was a great underlying story about self-esteem and value. The surprise ending was a nice touch as well. Definitely worth a read.
