I received this ARC through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review!
Ive posted a full review on Goodreads, I'm looking forward to reading more from this author

This book is a short but not sweet novella. It is filled with horror and the monsters your dreams are made of. This book is action packed and fast paced. The characters are fantastic. I love the way they interact and show their emotions. The author did a great job at portraying that in the book. Also the plot twists in this book were unexpected and that's a making of a fabulous book. This is the second book written by Mark Gelineau and Joe King that I have read. The first one was A Reaper of Stone. They really know how to grab your attention and hold onto it for dear life with these books. I couldn't be more thrilled to go on this adventure with all these characters and see who falls and who thrives in the rest of the series.

I want to thank NetGalley, Gelineau and King, Mark Gelineau and Joe King for an advanced copy of Rend the Dark for an honest review.
A nice blend of horror and fantasy all in a novella. Ferran and Mireia from the Order of Talan are among the few who can see through the illusions of the Ruins who wear the faces of others. A short read, but the authors pack a lot of detail into the sliver of this creepy world we are shown. I really enjoyed Rend the Dark and am on to the next book in the series Skinshaper.

Rend the dark by Mark Gelineau, Joe King.
The great Ruins are gone. The titans. The behemoths. All banished to the Dark and nearly forgotten. But the cunning ones, the patient ones remain. They hide not in the cracks of the earth or in the shadows of the world. But inside us. Wearing our skin. Waiting. Watching.
This was a very enjoyable read with great characters. How the evil was described and how they fought it. Can't wait to read more from this series. Highly recommended. 5*. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book from netgalley.
