Sadly this book was archived before I could download to read it. It has been added to my TBR and I’ll keep an eye out for it again in the future or at my local library.

Great book. Based in the future and has similar themes to the Divergent series and Hunger Games series. Those that liked them will enjoy this book. 1st in a trilogy.

I really wanted to enjoy The Alpha Drive but sadly it just didn't hold my attention, I didn't end up finishing the book .

I did not finish this book and I will not continue reading it because I did not mesh well with the writing style.

This book takes place in 2055 . Half of the world in living in an alternate relatity called Dormance. They do not know there bodies are asleep and that nothing in their world is real.

Emery Parker is transferred to a boarding school in Arizona and finds out that she is a Dormant. She meets Torin who is young genius working for the company that wants to keep the Dormant state active and to make even more people Dormant. Together they try to stop this. Emery needs to play two roles one for each side.

Some of the relationships are a bit weird like her roommate who for some reason thinks they are best of friends after just a few minutes of meeting. Her boyfriend who seems to want to control her but also keep his distance from her.

I did enjoy the book but it took me a while to get into the rhythm of the book. Once I did I could not put it down. I am looking forward to reading the next book.

Unfortunately I never got the chance to pick up this book and read it! The cover was what initially drew me in, but I picked a bad time to request it with school going on and everything, sadly.

I received a copy through Netgalley for a review. This book was just ok for me. A YA version of The matrix. I found it a bit confusing, the ending was rushed (of course it’s a trilogy). The reviews are all over the map, so other people found it quite enjoyable.

Why was her roommate suddenly her Best friend and all up in her business? Who allows this kind of nonsense to happen? Why did they insist on putting the tags in places that could easily be seen, then insisting that if anyone saw them It Was Over(tm)? If she was visiting virtually how did she bring physical objects back with her? So many questions and I don't care enough about the TSTL protagonist to read any sequels.

This is a fast-paced, interesting sci-fi story that I think my older students would enjoy. I look forward to more books from this author!

This book reminded me of a futuristic Matrix set in the future. I really loved the concept and can't wait to read more in this series!
