Word of caution: I’m a huge Becky Wade fan. I loved this book. I love all things Becky Wade and Porter family. This book has a great mystery that keeps you flipping page after page. And the chemistry between Dru and Gray keeps the pages turning, too. I love that Becky involves the rest of the Porter siblings in this work. If you’ve read the previous books and love the Porters the way I do, you’ll be pleased to revisit each one and get an amazing glimpse into their lives today. And I love that Nancy Porter finally reveals her favorite child. One of my favorite quotes is this: “You are not given many chances at great loves in this life. When you are given that chance, you have to reach for it with all your strength.”

Gray Fowler has a stalked and is now under bodyguard protection until they can catch him. Dru Porter, a former marine and black belt has been assigned to protect him however Gray doubts her abilities as a bodyguard . In the final book of the Porter series, we follow the story of Dru Porter as she works to protect Gray and avoid any form of romance.

With the final book of the Porter Family Series, Becky Wade does not disappoint, Wade has developed a skill to craft romance and suspense hand in hand that keeps you glued to the page. I've been a fan of Becky Wade since her first book, and this is another to keep on your bookshelf, I love the depth and growth of each of her characters and each story she has crafted. The only down side is that this is the end of the Porter series.

I want to start by saying that I hated the prologue for this book so much. I rarely have strong feelings about a prologue, but I almost stopped reading the book because of this one. It was totally and completely a huge spoiler for the story and really ruined a lot of the story for me. So that was a star off right from the get-go.

This is the first Becky Wade book I've read, and I actually listened to it through Audible Escape. While there were things I didn't like about the main characters, Dru and Gray, I did find myself caring about them and wanting to know their story and wanting them to find healing and happiness together so all in all, I have to say, I did enjoy the book.

I didn't realize this book was part of a series when I started it, and to be honest, Dru and Gray's story worked just fine as a stand-alone. But I personally found it really annoying when the book kept jumping to other characters I didn't know and didn't care about that weren't part of the story I was reading. I get that I would probably feel very differently about that experience had I read the series in order because I probably would have cared about those people and wanted to know how they were doing, but I didn't know them and didn't care about them, and this book didn't change that at all. I still don't care about them and wish they hadn't intruded on the story I was reading as they added nothing to my experience or this particular story. I think even if I had read the previous books in the series, I would have preferred if this book stayed with Dru and Gray's viewpoints and had checked in with previous characters from Dru and Gray's viewpoints only. I just really didn't like the chapters from other people's perspectives. It made the story feel very disjointed and a little soap-opera-ish to me.

Her One and Only is the last book in the Porter Family series by Becky Wade. As a big fan of romantic suspense, I definitely give this book five stars. This book stars Dru Porter, the youngest member of the family and only daughter. Dru is a former Marine and currently working private security. She is hired to protect Gray Fowler, an NFL football player, who is being stalked. I loved watching Dru and Gray's relationship develop while sitting on the edge of my seat as Dru tracks down the stalker. I really appreciated a strong heroine, great banter between the characters, just the right amount of romance, and a storyline that kept me guessing

Although you could read this as a standalone novel, I would recommend reading the rest of the series first. I enjoyed the updates on the Porter brothers and their families in Her One and Only.

I am sad to see this series come to an end as all her fans are, but this book was a great conclusion to the Porter Family series.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

WOW! That's the best word to describe this story. It was ah-maz-ing!! The chemistry between Dru and Gray....loved the drama and suspense of two different storylines. The issues that need to be overcame were real and heartfelt. This is excellent writing and very enjoyable read! I can not say enough to recommend it!

Her One and Only by Becky Wade is the fourth and final book in the “Porter Family” series, and I am SO sorry to see this end! I have loved following this cowboy-Marine Corps family! After three swoon-worthy brothers, I was interested to see this wild sister have her own story.

Dru Porter is a former Marine just like all her older brothers, as well as a black belt, fantastic shot, and a security agent at a local firm. She’s petite, but boy oh boy, she’s fierce.

Gray Fowler is a star NFL player whose team managers want him to have a bodyguard around the clock. Gray personally doesn’t see the need, nor does he see how a little girl could possibly protect him. I mean, after all, he’s like twice as big as she is. So he ignores her…until he realizes that he can’t do without her.

I loved this book. I can’t honestly say that it works as a stand-alone, because Meg and Bo are the secondary characters and it really helps to remember their story from book one. Also, this is a cute story. It really is. And while I’d give it five stars by itself, when compared to the rest of the series, it was more of a four and a half. I don’t know why, but something was a little less than the others. I mean, I loved it absolutely loved it. I will probably read it again. I just liked books two and three better.

Thank you so much to Bethany House and Net Galley for providing me with an electronic copy of this book to read and review. All opinions are my own and were not required to be positive.

5 Stars!!!
What an amazingly perfect, yet very bittersweet (For all us fans!) ending to the Porter family series! I have been so looking forward to Dru's story ever since book one and I was not disappointed in the slightest! I loved both Dru and Gray (Becky Wade has crafted yet another utterly swoon-worthy hero!) I liked how God used Dru to help strengthen His relationship with Gray, and vice versa, always such a wonderful thing to see in a romance novel! I loved the banter between Dru and Gray, as well as between Dru and her family so much, that has been one of my favorite things about this family since book one. I love that I can always count on Becky Wade to tug at my heart strings, make me smile and keep me chuckling from beginning to end and this book was no different! Words truly cannot express my depth of love for this book as well for the entire series! It was so awesome that this book provided closure in several different areas, I especially loved the conclusion of Meg and Bo's story! It's funny but I guess I felt about the Porter family similar to the way Mrs. Bennet (From Pride and Prejudice) felt about her children, that I wouldn't be truly happy until each sibling had found the love of their life. LOL! :D
As that is now the case, then, while I am sad to say goodbye to this fictional family that I love so much, I am completely and perfectly and incandescently happy that they are each living their happily ever after's and I can revisit them and their adventures any time I want to!
I highly recommend Her One and Only to fans of contemporary romance with a suspense element (oh yes, how could I have forgotten about the suspense, it was sooo good! I absolutely loved that part of the story, and let me just say that I am usually able to figure out the identity of the villain(s) pretty early on but with this one there were so many possible suspects that my guess kept changing and until the ID was made I had no clue for sure who the guilty party was!)
While I think the books can definitely stand alone I would recommend reading them in order! Fans of the Porter family series are not going to want to miss this final installment!
I cannot wait to see what else Becky Wade has in store for us!

Thank you to the author and publisher for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for helping to promote it!

This book was hard for me to get through. It was very heavy on sensuality, kisses, innuendo, alcoholism, premarital sex (as a lifestyle; talked about, not shown), and muscles (ropy, hard, etc.). There was an obscene gesture, the Lord's name was taken in vain at least once, and there were at least two expletives. A "Sexy Santa" lady (similar to a stripper) made an appearance too, which I found incredibly inappropriate for Christian fiction.

Dru claimed to be a professional bodyguard, but she often threatened to beat up her client. There didn't seem to be much concern about guarding him on road trips (for his job as an NFL player), though it was made pretty clear that the guy was receiving letters and threats at all of his addresses.

It didn't seem like there was a solid explanation for why the driver of the maroon truck was stalking the client. That really fell short for me as I expect something concrete and reasonable when reading mystery/procedural type stories.

Though I enjoyed the mystery and bodyguard angle, it didn't really fit with the rest of the Porter Family series, which were contemporary romances without a strong mystery/action thread.

There were many spots of major history dumps and telling, which bogged down the reading for me in those moments.

There were a few inconsistencies, the most major being that Silver Leaf had a male groom. In A Love Like Ours, book three in the series, it was made clear that Silver would have only female grooms from a certain point forward. I was surprised that he didn't still have the same groom as in that book, but at the very least, I expected the groom to still be female as per the other book's storyline.

My favorite thing about Her One and Only was the theme of one's heart softening toward one's future spouse. That is something that's really important to me, because I think it is one ingredient to a marriage that lasts a lifetime.

This was my final Becky Wade book to read. Since I was disappointed by five out of six, I will not be trying any additional titles.

Her One and Only
The conclusion to the Porter Family Series is finally here and it's a winner! We finally witness the story of Dru, the youngest Porter sibling and the only girl. Her three older brothers - Bo, Ty and Jake - all got their own stories in the first three books. Dru's story is a perfect conclusion!

Storyline
Wowza! This book grips the reader from the first sentence and doesn't let up until the last. Suspense, mystery and romance clip along at an excellent pace and the reader gets lost in the story, making it hard to put down. Dru Porter has always been trying to catch up with her three older brothers in life. A former marine, she is now a bodyguard - and has just been assigned to protect an NFL player, Gray Fowler, who has been receiving death threats from a stalker. Gray is not happy when he finds out that a girl half his size will be protecting him. He is also not happy that Dru is immune to the charm that thousands of other women fall for. As these two reluctantly work together, they slowly learn to trust one another with their hearts and lives.

Depth
At first glance, this book doesn't appear to be terribly deep - it could even be considered a lighthearted read. However, author Becky isn't content to just let the mystery and romance play out. She expertly weaves in real relationship problems and the deeper issues behind them needing to be worked out. The issues are hard, but necessary for deeper relationships and intimacy with other people. She visits the effects of child abuse, the emptiness of wealth and fame, and the purposes of life.

Faith
Forgiveness is a central theme in this book, and makes us realize we are never truly free until we forgive - and are forgiven. There is a big difference between being a Christian in name versus being a Christian in action as a result of true, real faith. Author Becky uses the characters' growth to shine a light on what it looks like to have a disconnect between you and God.

Love Story
Grey and Dru really don't like each other at first, which, in our humble opinion, always makes for a good love story just around the corner. This one doesn't disappoint! Their relationship is full of chemistry on the surface, but gets deep and authentic as it turns into love. Many swoon worthy moments in this story!

Overall

Very satisfying conclusion to this great series!!! We are sad to say good-bye to the Porter family, but just might have to start the series all over again to keep visiting them.
