There is no doubt in a Christian's mind about the importance of loving and worshipping God alone and fleeing from idols. However, nowadays our idols are not only the statues and icons of the old days, like it used to be during Bible times. In fact, we end up finding out that we have more idols than we would want to admit.
That's why this book is so important for every Christian. It shows us how anything (and I mean anything) can become an idol and steal the place in our hearts that belong to God alone. We need to be very aware of that in order to avoid creating idols in our hearts.
The author presents the subject in a way that leads us to understand and identify our "idols", and what to do about it. Indeed it is a very relevant book for our days.
My only critique is that come chapters could be more objetive, shorter, to the point. The author sometimes sound repetitive, and sometimes she could have gotten to the point faster, but that doesn't compromise the book as a whole (and some people might not even notice that as I did).
