Review
I was really scared to read this book because I felt so intrigued by the teasers. The last time I had that with one of rachel's book (The consequence of loving Colton) I was disappointed. I thought that was because there was such a huge build up and I just couldn't wait to read it that I was disappointed because to me it didn't live up. So I was scared that it would be like that with this book. So I was procrastinating reading this and I was a fool to do so. I love love love this book. It's just great. It made me laugh so much! And I love it being written in Ian's point of view.

What is this book all about
Well this book is about Ian and basically about Lex as well. Ian and Lex are best friends and buisness partners. Ian was drafted to play for the NFL but after an accident busted his knee he couldn't play anymore. He and Lex started a wingman company. Helping woman get the man by coaching and teaching them.
After meeting Blake, a roommate of his other best friend Gabi, they don't get of a great start. As it turns out Blake is also a client. It's now Ian's job to help Blake reach her potential and help her get the guy she wants. Only after getting to know her more Ian is in danger of braking his number one rule "Don't fall for the client". Can he help Blake get the guy he things she wants?

What did I like about this book
I just love Ian, he is such a funny and charming guy. He really made me laugh. He and Lex are really great and funny friends. That's what made me like Lex as well. I know they're both manwhores but I was charmed by them haha.
I really liked the banter and chemistry between Ian and Blake. It was really entertaining to read. I must admit at times I was getting a bit impatient but it all turned out great.
I also liked the banter Lex and Gabi had going on. I'm willing to bet my left ovary that there is more to it than just hating each other.
One other thing I liked where the tips the guys gave haha. They sure are good at what they do ;)
Over all this was a great read. I loved it very much and I can't wait to read more about these characters!

This book has such an awesome premise, I couldn't wait to start it. It didn't hurt that I love Rachel Van Dyken's work. I was instantly drawn into the book and fell in love with Ian. I loved his personality. I love being in his head and seeing things from his point of view. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for Blake. It took a long time for me to warm up to her. It took me until almost 50% to come to like her and that didn’t last long since she did something I hated and while it could have been worse, that event, combined with my slow warm up to her, was enough for me to write her off. To add insult to injury, it was Ian that later ended up apologizing and begging her to give them another chance…and I took great issue with that because Blake was the one at fault. I can honestly say that I was hoping that there would be a cliffhanger and Ian would find someone else.

Even though I had issues with Blake, I loved Ian’s friends. The banter between Lex, Gabi and Ian had me cracking up. I also loved seeing Ian work with his clients. And honestly, I would love to see how Lex would do at Ian’s job. One of my favorite things was Ian’s rules.

I loved how he knew exactly how to help women and get them the guys they wanted. Overall, I love the promise, Ian, and his friends and I loved seeing Ian work with his clients. My reading is purely for those things, because if I took Blake into account... It wouldn't be quite so generous.

I can't wait to read more from the series and to see how Wingman Inc moves forward.

Rachel does it again. The Matchmaker's Playbook is a fun, witty read. If you are struggling to get the man of dreams, can't get him to notice you or just having trouble getting past the friend-zone then Ian is the man for you. This book is written from Ian's point-of-view. A sexy, former professional athlete, Ian and his friend Lex (sexy brainiac) have a business known as Wingman's Inc. They help women get the man. They take on a girl named Blake, an athlete with 90's athlete fashion senses, as one of their clients. Blake has been friend-zoned by the boy-next door. As Ian helps Blake, the attraction builds between these two. Will Ian move over so Blake can get the boy she's always wanted or will Ian show her he's the man she deserves?

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

I went into this book with high hopes because let's face it, every book of Rachel's I have ever read I loved. The Matchmaker's Playbook was all in the guys POV and honestly it just worked.

Ian is a man that loves women, all women too. Any shape or size, he wants them all to find their connection. He helps women get the courage to go after the one she wants only if statistically it looks like a good match. Blake was the perfect female lead to match up with Ian.

I really enjoyed this book and can not wait for the next one!!!

This book is hilarious. I loved Ian and Lex's friendship. I have not read a book with this premise before so it was new to me. Now on to Ian and Blake, I love that they started out as friends and it grew from there. I'm not one to reiterate what the synopsis will tell you but basically Ian is helping Blake get together with David and of course there are twists and turns. Rachel has done it again. This is a book will recommend to everyone.

The Matchmaker's Playbook by Rachel Van Dyken is the first book in the Wingman Inc. Series. It is a contemporary romantic comedy. Ian Hunter a former NFL recruit and Heisman nominee endures a career ending tragedy that puts him on a new path in life. Mastermind behind the Wingman Inc. hush-hush dating service. The clientele are those individuals who appear to go unnoticed by their crushes until Wingman Inc. intervenes with their dating rules. Enter Blake Olson, frumpy collegiate enlisting the services of Wingman Inc. to catch the eye of her childhood crush. Ian has truly met his match in Blake in every sense of the word. Can Ian follow his own rules or does he let her go when his services are no longer needed. When I first read the synopsis I thought, meh. That being said I also thought, this author hasn't disappointed me yet. I dove into the story and found it so entertaining that I didn't put it down until I was finished. I'm probably in the minority but I loved Ian's character from the beginning followed closely by Blake. I'm also looking forward to the next book in this series. A copy of this book was provided for my honest opinion. I also recommend the Bet Series and the Seaside Series by this author if you enjoyed this book.

Rachel is master when it comes to writing fun loving swoon worthy romance. This story is funny and you are sure to swoon over Ian and want to know even more about Lex and his background. Blake is a sporty girl who moves in with Ian's best friend who also becomes a client in his dating company. Its fun to watch the master start to question his own rules. It's a great read and you will enjoy .
