Omigosh! This is one bunch of intrepid, high spirited ladies! Continuing their quest to complete their bucket lists, this group of women have taken over a local covered bridge for a photo shoot. Gunfire leads them to find the unconscious body of a local nursing home owner and they are off to solve the crime. In the midst of food truck mayhem, arson, a local legendary treasure and a handsome detective, the ladies find themselves with plenty clues to follow up on.

The relationship between these women is the lynch pin pf the story. Typical of a large group of diverse women they are fiercely loyal, all the while allowing just a bit of cattiness to bleed through in their interactions. It is a well paced story with fantastic characters on all sides. The dialogue is is witty and each of these women could be the readers long lost favorite aunt. With lots of action this book was so not boring and the mystery was fun to follow.

This is book two in the series and I have not read book 1. The story worked for me quite well without the prior knowledge, however this is a big group with an occasional husband and relative thrown in for color. Reading the first book may have been helpful in keeping track of everyone in the beginning. Once the story got rolling it wasn’t an issue.

I am looking forward to more book from this author.
