In anticipation of Hard Deeds, the third book in the Dirty Money series, I decided to play catch up and read the series. Hard Rules was a great story with the perfect amount of sexy heat added to the mix. Emily and Shane sizzled. Who doesn't' love a good romance where the nice girl snags the attention of the sexy and very wealthy entrepreneur! I'm very excited to read the next book and hope the series is as good as the first book.

Hard Rules is the first book in the three book trilogy - Dirty Money. Be warned - there is a cliffhanger here. Although I hate cliffhangers, it works well here and I loved Hard Rules.

Shane Brandon is trying to straighten out his crooked family when he meets Emily Stevens. She seems like a light in his sometimes-dark world, and he wants her. What he doesn’t know is Emily is hiding something from him and isn’t who he thinks she is.

Hard Rules is steamy romance and a family drama mixed with an engaging romantic suspense story that will have you counting down the days until the next book, Damage Control, is released.

WARNING, WARNING, WARNING.... This book is a MAJOR cliffhanger!!!!!

I have not read any of Lisa Renee Jones work before. Since one of the things that I love as a blogger is discovering authors that I have not read before. I jumped on the chance to read Lisa Renee's new series, Dirty Money. As I was reading Hard Rules (Dirty Money #1), I was blown away!

I am not even sure where to start with this review. Anything that I write will give away some of the plot.... I knew very quickly into Hard Rules that I was facing a major cliffhanger. I was so right. I will say this, Lisa Renee Jones does a great job with her blurb for Hard Rules. That is all you need to know in order to read Hard Rules.

I loved the instant chemistry between Shane and Emily. It's intense!

"I want you to leave with me, but be clear. That means I will f*ck you every possible way, with the full intent of ensuring that I'm the man you compare all others to."
Lisa Renee Jones, Hard Rules (Dirty Money #1)

Hot- Hot- Hot!!!

The mystery that is Emily will be fun to read as this series plays itself out. I am looking forward to see how this series continues. I need this series to continue, right now!

Thank you Lisa Renee Jones for allowing me read Hard Rules prior to its release. I am so happy that I took a chance on your writing. Sorry for the shortness of this review. I feel like I would spoil things for readers if I going into detail... I look forward to diving into more of your work. You have a fan for life!

Well the blogger slump is at it again. For those of you who dont know what a blogger slump is…well, I’ll inform you what it is for me. No matter what book, author, type, genre…I just can’t seem to really get attached, and fall in love with a book. Its not that I dont like the book, because I did, I just didn’t love it. The storyline was intriguing and interesting, both the primary and secondary characters developed well throughout the story. There was love, and drama, a resolution to the conflict, but there was just something that held me back from giving it that all important 5 star rating. I blame the slump. I really feel this is a book my followers will enjoy, as I did. I think once I find my way out of the slump, I will give it a re-read.

The first in an all new series, and what a start! The Brandon family could give the Ewings a run for their money. This book focuses on Shane, a son with a shady family and corrupt family business to contend with. He's trying to undo the damage of his father and brother. Emily is a new employee and a woman who has her own secrets. There is romance, steaminess, mystery, and humor. The cliffhanger ending left me wanting more and I cannot wait for this series to continue.
