A beautiful retelling punctuated by gorgeous artwork really draws you into the story and even though you know the story, the art will keep you flipping the pages.

Lovely art, and a unique take on a familiar story. While the original is also rather short, the comic would really benefit from a few more pages. It just didn't feel quite robust enough. I would definitely recommend to a middle grade reader.

Veeery pretty artwork, though it gets washed out after a while. I liked the story and definitely loved the new take on Snow White. I'd recommend this one for sure.

'Snow White: A Graphic Novel' by Matt Phelan is a unique remake told mostly in a wordless style. The illustrations carry this mostly silent story.

It's the familiar story of Snow White, but this time, it's set during the depression. Samantha (Snow) White's evil stepmother is a former vaudeville star, known as the Queen of the Follies. Samantha's father, known as the King of Wall Street, is a stockbroker who managed to dodge the calamity of the market collapse. There are other unique story elements that I won't give away here.

It is a quick read, but I lingered over the illustrations. Matt Phelan has an eye for the periods he chooses to illustrate. I was a big fan of his book Bluffton, and I really liked this. After reading this, the choice of art deco font for the front cover made much more sense to me.

I received a review copy of this graphic novel from Candelwick Press and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this graphic novel.

This is the most beautiful retelling of Snow White I have ever read. This graphic novel story moves Snow and her friends to the Roaring 20s New York. The magic mirror has been replaced by a ticker tape, and the dwarfs are more lost boys than short grumpy men. This has to be one of the best retelling of this story ever. The illustrations are amazing. Any would be worthy of hanging on the wall. A must read for anyone who likes graphic novels.

A unique retelling of Snow White. I enjoyed the illustrations and idea. This title is perfect for a children's/young adult section of the library. Both fairy tail retellings and graphic novels continue to be very popular, and this would be a great addition for that collection.

Excellent story & artwork- because of reading on NetGalley decided to purchase for our library. Students love graphic novels so this was an excellent addition to our collection.
