After reading a few chapters, I decided this book held no interest for me at this time nor was it a good fit for my blog. I elected not to finish the book now, but it may well be a case of "the right book at the wrong time" syndrome and I might be willing to try it again in the future. Thank you to 47North and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to sample this title. |
This is the second of a trilogy and a fantasy read. Following Owen's adventures it is a book of pure escapism. I always marvel at fantasy writers and the way they weave their tales and this one is worth a read. With magic, adventure and a poisoner this was an entertaining novel and one I will recommend |
After finishing book 1, it was impossible for me to not start this one immediately and then finish it as quickly as possible. The book takes place about a decade after the end of book one. Owen is a man now, and playing the game of palace politics very well. This second book explores more about the world of Ceredigion and its neighbors, and the history of it all. I really enjoyed the second book although my heart is broken! |
