We been on quite the ride with Harper and Jacob.

"I mean that you want to forget so many things. I can help you forget, Harper. You can help me forget some things, too. Maybe that's why you came back."

Such a beautiful, haunted man.

"I told you before. I don't think I can be with you in any way but all the way. One hundred percent. Look at me." She met his stare reluctantly. "Everything's going to be okay, Harper. Trust me."

"I've fallen in love with you. But I've always loved Jake Thorp. I'll always be loyal to that brave, incredible kid."

I'm bittersweet about this one. I did like the story but it felt way to long when read as one. With this series it would have been better read as a serial instead of one complete book. The way it was set up worked better in parts instead of as a whole. As a whole it ended up being more sex than substance at times, but I don't think that would have been portrayed as much during each serial installment.

I did like Jacob and Harper together though. Even though this series was a bit bitter sweet, Beth Kery has a gift at writing steamy romance.

There were many layers to this story and I did like it but I felt I was wanting a more substance.
