This book had quite the cast of characters, most were flawed. The plot had a lot going on with all of the characters, their relationships, family drama and social rules. The writing was atmospheric of 1950’s Texas and I enjoyed that.
Many thanks to Positive Imaging LLC and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion

I don't really know why I had a hard time picking this book up, since I was interested in it in the first place. Perhaps it was the cover that felt somehow out of my league, I don't really know. But after reading it I come here to do as promised, and that is to share my opinion.
It was a great book! No expectations at the moment of reading it, I just threw myself in the story and it was surprisingly good. I enjoyed the mature characters, their development and the versatility of these fictional people. They each had a hard time, but the way they went through the events, the way they actually developed and allowed the world around them to continue to build them and even strenghtem them and their relationships was simply inspiring. In many ways it was predictable, in some - far from it. But I enjoyed it all.

I loved this book and all its characters, It is a warm book that allows the reader to feel they are a part of the story rather than a reader. I did not want to put the book down because it was a pleasure to read. This would be a perfect selection for a book group and will appeal to many.

I tried hard to finish this book! I received it from NetGalley in return for an honest review. Parts were great, others were oddly weird and I gave up after reading 70% of the book!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I must say I was expecting a book that was a little more light-hearted. I found the book to be rather depressing, so that made it difficult for me to read.
