As someone who reads a lot of YA and LGBTQ lit, I was expecting to love this book. It was good, but not the great I was looking for. I would still recommend this to anyone who likes the two genres.

Such an interesting concept. Totally something I'd recommend to my students.

This was a great book. I found it to have an excellent mixture of humor and realism. Mike agitated me a lot when I began the book but I grew to appreciate his experiences. Overall, a book I will definitely recommend to anyone looking for humor or lgbt focused books.

This is an adequate exploration of sexuality, coming-out novel for YA readers. I liked the characters, and felt the emotions our protagonist Mike was feeling were authentic and believable. What I found distracting, which really detracted from the book for me, was the way it was written from the protagonist's point of view, but in the third person. Very odd and kept me from really immersing myself in the story.
