i sadley forgot to write my review when i finshed this book. but i remember i really liked to read this story. i just loved the greek gods parts! and the fact the rule the modern world. the story was funny, fast paced and the plot really good and orginal! hope to reread it someday to make a beter review

This book had SO much "I'm not like other girls" vibes going on that I nearly put it down by 10%. Not to mention the info dumping.
I'm bummed out because I love books based on mythology but this was angsty teen-level drama mashed up with the Chosen One trope (and not in a good way) and gods know what else.
I don't even know what this book was but I felt like all the pieces of a great story were there but the execution failed those elements tragically.

Ive lost interest in greek focused books. I think Ive just read to many of them. Not this books fault. Its just a personal preference thing. I waited so long to review it in case I ever get back in the mood to finish it but after this long I doubt it will happen.

I was not able to get into this book. The writing style was not to my liking, it had a bit of a tween feel to it even though I know that is not the intended audience. I think that it was because of this that I could not enjoy this book.
I hate to give negative or bad reviews, I didn't love this or hate it, it was just not for me. The storyline of the book was confusing and the lead character was slightly annoying.

DNF.
Maybe it is me, and I've read so many books by now that I just know when something is for me and when it is not. I tried reading this one, but I just hate the "Chosen One" thrope. It has been done soooo many times that I just can't be bothered with it anymore. I also didn't like the MC, she was doing a lot of slut-shaming and acted really stupid. So no.. not for me.

I really enjoyed the world and how it was set up. Every power struggle was believable and the meddling of gods with man felt as natural as it did in Greek stories.
Lyssa is clearly naive, but is capable of learning quickly. My heart was breaking for her at the end of this book.
I cannot wait to read on and find out how each of the characters' adventures unfold.
I think the thing I like most about this series is the author gives us all the info we want and more. I read the mini series before this novel and loved getting to know each character before the main events began.
One part of the story that I felt was missing was a point of view by the gods. I feel like we got the motive and background for each of the major players in the book but the gods. What do they actually want?
