Quite humorous and interesting to read. I enjoyed the way she wrote and the story told.

Found it to be a bit boring. Disappointing compared to her stand up

Amy is always interesting, funny anecdotes from one of our generation's brightest comedic voices.

I expected to like this much more than I thought. Lots of kudos to the honesty portrayed in this but I did find the journal entries a little much to read. Did have a few laughs at some of the scenarios at which she found herself though.

Was a so-so read for me, I enjoyed some of it but not all.

Some things just aren't as great as they might be. Take Amy's stand-up and sketch career, being part witty and clever, and part just crass and/or of dubious provenance. Take Amy herself - fit as, but on this evidence a skunk-head with crap taste in music. And take this book, being something that skips far too frenetically from cut-out-and-keep Messages on Thinking Powerfully for Young Women in Certain Bad Situations, memoir - and yes, crassness. It's better than Anna Kendrick's one, but neither are exactly brilliant.

I really enjoyed this book! It wasn't the greatest writing, but I understand Ms. Schumer is not a novelist. I really appreciated her honesty. I found the book to be a lot like her movie: you kind of expect raunchiness, but it turns out to be quite heartfelt. I was surprised to find out that she's an introvert, like me! It made me feel a little more normal, so thanks to her for that. She is also super down to earth and relatable. I was horrified to read about her encounters with physical and sexual abuse, but it just goes to show that it can happen to anyone. I appreciate her courage in telling these stories. I really don't have anything bad to say except I thought it was a little hypocritical of her to slam "humble braggers" then go on to talk about how she donated the full amount of her movie salary from her recent film and how much money she donates (if she was being ironic, I guess it went over my head). I also felt a little bad for her mother, since she portrayed her in such a negative light. I do admire her courage to do so, though. So, to sum up, not the greatest writing ever, but awesome message. Keep on being a bad ass, Amy! We love you!

Not funny although I don't think it was even supposed to be funny. Amy Schumer states that this is not an autobiography but it sure feels like it even if her writing style made this hard to follow as she jumps from one topic to another one.

Well colour me surprised! I actually enjoyed The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo way more than I thought I would. There were things that made me laugh, and things that moved me too. I could have done without the lists, and most certainly done with out the chapter on her stuffed animals, but other than that, I felt she was incredibly honest, and real.

She shares with readers some truly painful experiences. The way she lost her virginity was sad, horrific, and painful. Schumer was also in an abusive relationship that resulted in a few terrifying ordeals that left me feeling incredibly sad for her, but optimistic in that maybe by sharing her story, she gave someone else the courage to leave an abusive relationship. My heart went out to her when she spoke of her father's MS, but she did take things a bit too far (poop story) and this was not necessary. I could empathize when she wrote about her mother, and their volatile relationship—she has had to establish some pretty tough and firm boundaries. Many mothers and daughters walk a fine line, and I really struggle to understand why women are so cruel to other women, oftentimes this starts out with criticisms from one's mother.

I love that she is unabashedly a feminist. She is also kind, smart, and doesn't make apologies for any of her failures or shortcomings. She works hard, and is of course funny.

I know very little about Amy Schumer, aside from knowing that this was my kind of book. A comic, feminist memoir ticks all my boxes and I read this in a couple of days. Her humour is at times incredibly dark, her childhood reaction to her father's incontinence still shocks me to sadness, but the honesty is refreshing, even in a time of "refreshingly honest comic feminist memoirs"! Her plea for gun control stuck out as less successful, not only because it wasn't funny (it could have been, the NRA are absurd) but because I felt she was selling me something. I've since watched her stand up which features more graphic content but I felt the book took a more interesting middle ground.

Some fun moments but there is a fair bit of padding making it overall quite 'thin'.

Unfortunately I am unable to download this format, however, I have requested a physical copy from Orlando so hopefully I'll still be able to review on my blog and across my social media!

N/A - I'm afraid that I struggle to get through PDFs and the device I used to use to read them broke six months ago - I requested this over a year ago, at which time I would have been able to read it but unfortunately that's no longer possible.

I do like Amy so I was keen to read the book, unfortunately I wasn't a huge fan of this book but I am glad that I read it.
