Thank you for the arc, unfortunately I did not finish it, I just wasn't the right audience for this book.

Sadly this book was archived before I could download to read it. It has been added to my TBR and I’ll keep an eye out for it again in the future or at my local library.

This is one of the okayish book for me. I wasn't able to finish it though. I loved other Shelly Crane book but this one's different.

I wasn't able to finish reading this book, but will hopefully be able to in the near future. It is interesting enough that it caught my attention and I'm sad I didn't finish it.

DNF @ 21% --

I loved Shelly Crane's Significance series so I was more than excited to read her newest, The Other Side of Gravity. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it past 21%. The first chapter of the novel, which featured the past and a set-up to the story, was greatly written. Our heroine was young and experiencing a heartbreaking change of life. Just reading this section lured me in with a heroine who was smart and mature for her age. But from there, things went downhill. The writing changed making our heroine appear younger than she was at the very beginning (7 or 8 at the very beginning vs 17 at current day) of the novel. I pushed on, thinking it'd pick back up. But as soon as we got into Maxton's, our hero, POV, I fully disconnected. He's of the same age as her, but felt years younger with the way he was written and I find it incredibly hard to like a hero who appears very young. As a guy working in the harsh world, you'd expect him to appear much older than he is, but he never felt that way. And the amount of time these characters 'gulped' was entirely too many. Most of them didn't even fit the correct context of why someone would be gulping. That was sort of the last straw for me and I had to put the book down. I can't speak for the rest of the novel--maybe it picks back up and gets better, I don't know. I'll pass on this series, but I'll continue to carry on as a follower of Crane and give her next series a try.

ARC kindly provided by Netgalley for an honest review.

A lovely read, written in the easy flowing language which makes Shelley Cranes books so enjoyable.
The story has a very interesting premise, but is focused, ire heavily on romance and less on the world building.
