Jesse Donovan has been planning to bring his fiancé out to Montana and she changes her mind and even sends him a clipping to a matchmaker. Jesse writes to the agency, their investigator comes out, and soon Clare Griggs is on her way. She grew up on a farm and her father resented the fact that she was a girl and not the boy he wanted. When she arrived, Jesse took her to the judge to be married and then off to his home. He had gone looking for gold and was one of the few who struck it rich. He had built a house and wanted everything to be perfect for Rebecca, now for Clare.
There is a lot going on kidnapping, blowing up the mine, and hurting people. The author did a great job of keeping the story going but still keeping it interesting. The characters are fun and marvelous. They seem to care about each other even if they don't admit to it. I really enjoyed the banter and the effort to help each other.
