I read the book Ike and Kay by James Mcmanus a few years ago and was totally immersed in this story, but on reading Eleanor and Hick I was not so enthrughed as this book focussed more on Hick's influence rather than a relationship so essentially the title was slightly misleading.

What I wanted to know was -Did first lady Eleanor Roosevelt have a love affair with Lorena Hickock? they were friends we know that.

The book explores Eleanor's crumbling marriage, her husbands infidelities and her unfailing duty to be useful. So a lot of saddness and who would not value a lifelong friend

Well researched in the historical aspects and on the whole interesting read.

This was a great biography/history that illuminates a lesser known part of the well-know Eleanor Roosevelt. I very much enjoyed the depth of history.

I've always been fascinated by First Ladies. This look into Eleanor's private life was a great trip

Very interesting and well researched book on Eleanor Roosevelt and her long term female friendship. I'm not sure I agree with labeling this a 'lesbian' relationship. I believe it was an endearing and enduring friendship that was not uncommon at the time.
