A woman of her time and ahead of her time. What a force she was and continues to be.

I considered this book a personal present to me as it was published on my birthdate. I am obsessed with Helen Gurley Brown and her 'mouseburger' story. I think she is the original girl boss and has a true place in the feminist Hall of Fame. She broke so many barriers for women, even as she lived within the confines of a traditional marriage. I think she showed that women can have and do it all on their own terms while looking amazing. Style and substance are possible together and this is great look at the magazine pioneer that freed women sexually, socially while never neglecting the power of packaging. Great read!
