Oh this was such a delight to read! I loved both the characters and the story. It was a joy to read!

The bookshop setting was perfect and I couldn’t help but love my time spent at Nightingale Books.

I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the characters in this book. I loved the connections they made and everything just made me smile.

Both charming and heartwarming. Just wonderful!

I received an arc copy from Netgalley and the publishers in exchange for an honest review. However, I wasn't able to read the pdf in time, because I really struggle with those, the small font in particular. So, I was able to get a copy through my library and finally had a chance to read it. And let me tell you, I'm so glad I did!

I requested this book because it's about a book shop and I simply adore books about books! In addition, I really enjoy reading romance novels as well.

Things I liked:

- The book shop is the central part of the novel. The story is told through various perspective which have the book store in common.

- I was engrossed in every single storyline and actually want more! Every character was unique and were interesting to read about! I do believe Dillon and Alice are the cutest!

- I was a bit stressed out at the time I started reading this but this book calmed me down a little. It was like the perfect book at the right time kind of thing.

- I now want to visit and actually work in Nightingale Books.

Things I didn't like:

- I think it should have been a bit longer. I felt things wrapped up really quickly and I actually didn't want it too end.

- I would have loved to see more of Julius!

All in all, I really enjoyed this book! It really relaxed me and that was exactly what I needed at the time! I loved all the references to other books and I really want to read Anna Karenina right now!

I gave How to Find Love in a Bookshop 4 stars! If you are looking for an engrossing romance novel about books, you should check out Veronica Henry's novel! I really recommend it!

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this book and how involved I felt with each of the characters' lives - there are some very sweet and touching moments in the story, as well as the odd twist to keep everything from being too rosy and perfect.

5☆ Beautifully written

Before Emillia's father passes away, he makes Emillia promise to keep the Nightingale book store open.

Julius opened the book store to help support Emillia and himself. As he was a single parent.
The story of Julius and the Nightingale book store was beautiful and compelling.
So you can understand why he so desperately want Emillia to keep the book store open.

Nightingale book shop reminds me of those gorgeous quaint book shops you find, where the owner knows every single book in the store and has a personal connection with each one and when you walk inside you just know you will find something very special. A true Gem!

It's a place that oozes Charm and welcomes everybody. Whether it's for a friendly chat, or to find a special book or present or just a place to escape.

Emillia knows how special the book shop is but what she wasn't aware of, was the fact her father was having financial troubles as the book shop wasn't making a profit. So she has a huge decision as to whether she can turn the Nightingale's around or sell up.

So when Jackson who works for the property developer comes sniffing round trying to entice Emillia into selling them the book store she is in for a tough ride.
Can she resist he's charm!

What I loved most about this book was the beautiful characters. Each character offering something very special to the book shop and story. The community is close and they all pull together to help Emillia with her decision.

I loved learning about the characters and each had their own unique story to tell.
For example you have Sarah the lady of the Manor who used to visit Nightingale to have a break from the pressures of the Manor, then you have Thomasina who has a passion for cooking and cookbooks... Which I can relate too as my collection is ever growing. She teaches cooking at the school which I think is so special.

But each character shares one thing in common the love of Nightingale's.

Emillia is so strong, she is dealing with the grief of her father's death and now coming to terms with owning her father's legacy.
She has big boots to fill, but she is perfect for the role. She has special memories within Nightingale's and her strength shines through.

For me How to find love in a bookshop is such a gem of a book. I don't think I have come across such a unique and special story like this in a while.

This book oozes Charm, strength, passion, Romance, Beautiful books, a compelling yet feel good read!
Thoroughly recommend to all book lovers. The perfect read.

Emilia’s return to her hometown of Peasebrook, nestled in the beautiful Cotswolds, has been far from idyllic. Instead it has been laced with grief and constant worry. Nightingale Books is the family business, if you can call a shop that turns no profit a business. Faced with piles of unpaid bills and staff she can barely afford Emilia has a decision to make; spend to accumulate or sell up.

With each customer, from the shy school teacher to the kleptomaniac stay at home mum, Emilia realises the shop is about more than just selling stories, but with a potential buyer waiting in the wings; will sense or sentimentality win out?

After reading Henry’s “A Night on the Orient Express” and being left a little disappointed, I was in two minds whether to request this ARC. However, what book lover could resist that title?

When every chapter, up until about number ten, introduced a new character I was concerned. Too many characters and sub plots had been my main issue with the authors previous work, but I was pleasantly surprised. I felt the additions of new people within the context of this story served it well. It showed us how important Nightingale Books was amongst the townspeople and provided a connection between them all.

The characters, including main protagonist Emilia, were charming and easily relatable, which I think is what we all want when selecting this genre. Even post humus, Julius was full of life and you could see why all the others had gravitated towards him and his shop.

Although concluded somewhat promptly, I did feel each person and plot was given a suitable ending and therefore I could overlook the slightly rushed feeling in the last few chapters.

This book has restored my faith in Henry, and I look forward to the next novel of hers I read.

Books being one of my favourite things I had to read this one! I loved how all the stories intertwined and all ended up being brought back to the same place.
