For the most part, this was an average book, deserving of 3 stars. I did not feel connected to any of the characters and although it was a trip through the west along the Oregon Trail, I believe, which I usually enjoy, the book mostly fell flat for me I got this originally as an ARC from Net Galley, but ended up listening through Audible via KindleUnlimited.

A well written historical fiction that I thoroughly enjoyed., the author did a great job at transporting one back to the time she was writing about and I appreciated the research and character development.

Abigail is a strong female character who chooses to pack up her kids and travel across country in a covered wagon in hopes of reuniting with her husband after the civil war. Although a gentle read threads of danger, mystery and romance will holdo readers rapt till the final page.
