Jilted in January:
Rose has been waiting. With a brother & fiancee off to Spain to fight, she's been waiting for her life to start. Until her brother sends a message saying that her fiancee has married someone else. But then again, is that so bad with Colin, the land agent, is so handsome? When Colin stands up to her brother telling him that he and Rose are betrothed, why not go along?

A witty novella with fun characters, well written and complete in its storyline. There are no loose threads that still needed to be tied up. A wonderful beginning to this series. I only wish that there had been another obstacle for the two main characters as it would have given the characters a little more depth.

Forbidden in February:
Robert is the Duke's valet. But how without work he feels a little like a fish out of water. When his mother suddenly dies he has no choice but look into her finances and put everything to rest. But that alters when he meets his mother's companion, Isabel: kindhearted, intelligent and not to mention attractive.

This novella started out really good, but the end left me wanting more. It felt a little suddon that Robert had fallen in love with Isabel, which is too bad because the characters are really interesting. I have a feeling that it would have made a butter novel than short story.

Seduced in September:
Adele, the governess has a thorn in her side: Edward, the Irish stable master. Forced to take riding lessons with him she can't help but think of his hands on her. But when their innocent glances aren't enough and he makes an advance on her, she needs to choose whether to go for it or keep herself safe.

Edward is so much fun. Cheeky in a way only Irish can be, and temptation itself. There's so much to him as well. As the story progresses we get to see more and more of his layers. Also, the interactions with Adele's charge are another reason to read this novella.

An Affair in Autumn:
Caro, Mark and Nate have been friends since childhood. Though Caro and Nate thought they would marry, it all went awry. Caro marries a Viscount 30 years older than her and Mark, who has loved her since childhood takes it poorly. But when Nate turns out to be the new Duke, Mark is forced to see Caro to find out where Nate is. The next day he boards a ship to New York only to find that Caro's on board as well.

I'm not sure I really like Mark. He's very domineering and refuses to let her finish a sentence and explain what happened. He says he's changed, but has he really? Caro is a little too simpering for my liking. She should have grabbed him, gagged him and told him.

A Duke By December:
I really enjoyed this novella. The characters and writing were brilliant- exactly what I've come to expect from Sabrina Darby. I only wish that we could have followed the characters during their trek through Canada to England. It almost seemed as if the Duke miraculously fell in love with Lizzie, which while reading you realize happened somewhere on the way. However, this still was a very enjoyable read and I'd recommend it to anyone.
