DNF"d

I tried to get through this one but found myself zoning out constantly. I usually love Tiffany's writing but this time it just wasn't working for me.

I DNF'd this book at 35%. I couldn't connect with the characters and I tried to pick it back up several times. I may try to give it a shot again, but I've had this on my shelf for quite a long time as it is.

DNF at 25%. I enjoyed other books by this author, but this one did not grab my interest. Very slow start.

I think I went into this with major Original Sinners expectations and I shouldn't have because this really stands on its own in a highly emotional way. I actually felt the punch to my gut while reading this.

If you follow my reviews, you know that I adore Tiffany Reisz. I never want any of her novels to end. She’s not only a master at creating characters to fall in love with despite their imperfections, her world building is impeccable. Her strengths are on full display with this dark, twisty love story. Outside of the Original Sinners universe, Tamara is my favorite of all Reisz’s characters. I loved her relationship with Levy. I also loved learning about Bourbon. This book is also a bit of a love letter to Bourbon, I was left thirsting for a drink that I don’t even care for.

Tiffany Reisz is such a talented author, but I've found that she's a bit of a hit or miss with me. I loved The Lucky Ones that was published after this, but had difficulty getting into The Bourbon Thief. I can't really explain why this happens, but after putting this book down after originally trying and then attempting to get back into it a few times after with no luck, I'm simply going to have to let it go and chalk it up to being a DNF.

Tiffany Reisz is a master story teller, and boy does she showcase that with The Bourbon Thief! This book was so well written and intriging. It captivated me from the start. I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll leave this review pretty vauge... Just READ IT!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It was a love story, and a tragedy, a tale of redemption and revenge with elements of history and the supernatural; all brilliantly told with witty dialog and dry humor to cut through the dark plot. Excellent!

Thank you to NetGalley for providing this book in exchange for an honest review.

A girl walks into a bar , yes that's how we start. You're hooked, the mystery begins . Tiffany has such an intricate way of twisting the past and present . The plot is the history of The Maddox Family and their Bourbon. How it became and what's been done to keep the name and business in the family. It wasn't hard for me to see between the lines . I have the mystery solved rather quickly and the little twist at the end yes not happy with that at all. I felt personally it could have been done different I felt a bit let down for one of the main characters . That's me, my opinion only . You may LOVE that. With that being said I loved the story the plot and everything inbetween.

I've been a Tiffany Reisz fan for years, and while this was different than many of the books I've read from her it was great! This story captured my attention, full of history and a great love story!

Tamara Maddox is apart of one of the richest families in the south.

Levi Shelby works in the stables and isn't good enough for her due to his social status and skin color.

Tamara and Levi what can I say about this couple? They weren't a traditional couple due to various reasons. They have all kinds of odds stacked against them and at one point I wasn't sure if it was even worth it anymore. As the story progresses a “marriage for revenge” turns into something more. I loved how the couple interacted with each other and pushes each other buttons. They fought hard but loved even harder. Throughout the story a HUGE bomb gets dropped and I honestly didn't see that coming the whole time!! I wasn't sure how their relationship would survive after this bombshell. That was my only issue with the book. I would have liked more info on the couple after that bomb was dropped. It fell just a little flat for me towards the end.

I honestly had no idea what to expect when I first started this book. I've never read anything by this author and she blew me away with her writing and storytelling. This book has so many twist and turns. This family has so many secrets, lies and betrayals. So many times during this book I sat here stunned and not being able to process what I just read. This book definitely took me by surprise and I will be sure to check out other books by this author.

OH WOW! This book is different from anything else Tiffany has published before.

Is it a bad thing? Hell no! I’m amazed by Tiffany’s talent for telling stories and The Bourbon Thief is a story that can’t be forgotten!!

Tiffany has now taken my two favorite (and taboo) subjects and turned them into epic stories ( I even wrote about those subjects myself, years ago, but in the same story). I did not see that coming at all and I absolutely LOVE to be surprised by Tiffany! Even though some of the things that happen I just KNEW would happen, other things were complete surprises!

Tiffany blew my mind and there ins’t BDSM, or even that much sex, in this book. Not that I thought she couldn’t, but Tiffany definitely knows how to write a story that goes beyond sex (The Original Sinners series already proved that even though there is a lot of sex in it).

I was so hooked reading this book that I couldn’t stop and I couldn’t belive when I saw I was already at 70%! This is a story full of action, full of an actual story, ful of talent, full of feelings and full of surprises. In other words, it’s an AMAZING story, you simply can’t miss! It will leave you thinking “What the hell did I just read???!!!”, which for me is one of the biggest complients a reader can give an author

Well done, Tiffany! You hooked me in another one of your books, which I blame on your astounishing talent to write them!!!
