Satisfaction, the incredible second installment in Lexi Blake's new series completely won me over from beginning to end! Full of eye-popping suspense, scorching romance, and a plot to DIE FOR, I was completely enamored with this story and loved every single second of Brandon and Carly's romance! Lexi Blake writes pure perfection. Her characters are always fascinating and her heroes well worth the wait while the heroines are smart, sassy, curvy and will have you wishing they were your best friend.
I can't seem to stop bragging about this new series! I freaking love how intensely passionate the romance is and how the suspense will leave you on the edge. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I am in AWE! I was so excited when I got this book, I literally did a "happy dance" and yet I didn't think it could top Ruthless, yet I shouldn't of doubted Miss Blake. Not only did Satisfaction top Ruthless, I instantly started to reread the moment I finished. That rarely happens for me unless the story is THAT good, and Satisfaction was MORE than THAT good!
This gets a SATISFYINGLY SMOLDERING FIVE SHOOTING STARS! Its breathtaking, its smooth, its full of surprises and plenty of action to keep your heart rate soaring, its one helluva great read and one of the BEST of the New Year!

Bran is my favorite Lawless bother! I loved his story and completely fell in love with him. The Lawless series is a spinoff of Lexi Blake's Masters and Mercenaries series. The series will have a book for each of the brothers in the Lawless family, but their sister Mia has a book in the Masters and Mercenaries series, Dominance Never Dies. You don't have to read it before picking up the Lawless Series, but if you want to follow the complete storyline I'd read it first. The Lawless Series is all about the Lawless siblings seeking vengeance for their murdered parents. Bran is the youngest Lawless brother and Carly is the PA to the woman the Lawless siblings think murdered their parents. Their story was full intrigue, danger, suspense and smoking hot romance. It's a hot romance series with a mystery that keeps the reader guessing. I highly recommend this series and can't wait for the oldest brother's book.

I'm kinda mad at myself right now. I definitely should have started with the first book in this series, Ruthless. Don't worry Satisfaction can definitely be read as a standalone. No I'm mad because Bran's story was so good that I want to know every little thing I missed. I'm not necessarily new to Lexi Blake books however, I haven't exactly read a lot of them. I even messed up and read the third book in her Topped series. I feel like I need a do over. Like maybe I should go back and read all her books before starting this new series. And then I need to start with Ruthless...lol
But that's just me being selfish. Lexi Blake writes really enticing thrillers all wrapped in sexy storylines. They're as daring as they are delicious. Satisfaction is about Brandon Lawless aka Bran Lang, one sibling in the Lawless family. This saga is really a whodunit around the deaths of Bran's parents. There are several key players and this particular story is about Patricia Cain and her potential role in the parents' death.
Carly Fisher works as Patricia Cain's assistance. And in true bad guy fashion, Patricia is holding something over Carly's head as collateral. Carly doesn't come without baggage of her own in the form of the mafia. Her ex wasn't very good and now that he's in prison, it's her the mafia wants. This all leads to some interesting scenarios between her and Bran. She comes across as much weaker than she really is and it was nice to see her "reawaken" for lack of a better word.
Bran too comes with baggage. He's as sweet and he is brawn, sexy as he is broken. This poor little man boy. He screams "hold me, love me" and you do just that. He's so easy to fall for, just ask Carly. I enjoyed his character, the honesty was very refreshing. Some of the conversations between Bran and Carly were very "real" to me. She's insecure and needs reassurance and poor Bran is just a guy. They're really simple aren't they? They don't read between our confusing lines, for them everything is just black and white. But when he realizes what's happening he's right there to smoothing if over with honesty. I really like that.
But what a tangled mess of lying and scandal Lexi Blake has written. While Bran and Carly's story more seem finished, it's far from over. I very much look forward to the next piece of this ever expanding puzzle. I think first though I need to read book one.

Satisfaction is the second installment of Lexi Blake's Lawless series and follows Brandon. If you've already started this series than you know the mission that the Lawless siblings are on; to get revenge on their parents murderer. This book picks up where the last one left us but now focuses on Brandon as he tries to recruit Carly for the Lawless team of vengeance.
Carly is stuck working for the boss from hell, so when Brandon comes to her and tells her that her boss isn't just a bitch to work for but a suspected killer she actually believes him. Working with Brandon is certainly no hardship for her, but Carly is determined to keep feelings out of their plans. While Brandon is equally determined to make Carly realize her true feelings about him.
Okay so this review is actually kind of hard to write. Why? Because this author is a huge favorite of mine and I wanted to love this book so hard, but I just didn't. The character lost me with this one and I don't have too many great things to say about either of them. However, I can say that I did like them together and thought they made a good couple.
Individually, though, neither of them were my favorite. Carly was a real problem for me because of her insecurities and how much they were voiced. I felt like the majority of the first half of the book was just her second guessing herself and wondering why someone like Brandon would be with her. It got to be very annoying to hear her constantly doubting Brandon wanting her, especially since I also felt that her issues were never resolved. She and Brandon never actually talked about what her fears were and it kind of bothered me when those feelings of hers seemed to just disappear in the second half.
Carly also gave me some bad vibes when there was a situation where she needed money, and I'm not talking about a $2 loan, I mean a million dollars, and she readily took it from Brandon. Yes he offered and didn't have an issue with helping her out, but it just rubbed me the wrong way that she never talked to him about it in depth or even tried to get him not to give so much money.
Now on to Brandon, he was definitely a complicated character. I could tell right from the beginning that he had issues, and I really wanted to know more about what those were. But as we explored just what his problems were, I was disliking his character more and more. We were told near the very end why he was the way he was, but then it was never explored, so I felt like we didn't actually get to ever learn what made him tick. And before we were told all I saw was a grown man unable to articulate what his own feelings were and too scared to seek comfort from more than one night stands.
As a whole, I enjoyed this book and I liked the suspense that was added in while we tried to figure out more of the mystery of the Lawless' past. There was one big shocker at the end that I did not see coming and now has me ready to scream until I can get the next book. The characters were not my favorite and I had several problems with them, but they never stopped me from enjoying the overall story. I would still recommend this book for anyone that is a fan of mysteries and hope you will be as surprised as I was by the end.

Satisfaction by Lexi Blake is an absolute must read!
As soon as I started reading, I fell in love! Brandon and Carly were two characters who were so beautifully written that I constantly kept reading to find out more and more about them and their relationship.
On top of the characters, the plot was so detailed that I always wanted to keep the book in my hands. I never wanted the book to stop. I wish the book was endless, and the voices of the characters just kept speaking to me.
This was an incredible second novel in the tantalizing new series by Lexi Blake!
4/5 Stars!

We did two reviews for Satisfaction - both are in this post.
Leigh's review:
Every time I finish a book by Lexi Blake, I waver between exhilaration and crushing disappointment. I feel as if I’ve just stepped off a roller coaster of emotions and am running top speed to get back in line to do it all over again, only to realize how long the line actually is to get to experience it once more. I adored everything about this book, except getting to the end and realizing that I now have to wait for her to write the book about the final brother to see how the saga plays out. It’s smart. It’s action packed. It’s sweet and kinky. And it’s going to drive me crazy to have to wait and find out how the Lawless story ends.
This second book in the Lawless series focuses on Brandon Lawless. In the siblings’ quest to take down their parents’ killers, their sights are set on Patricia Cain and her Martha Stewart-esque empire. But in order to get close to her, they need an “in”… and that’s where Carly comes in. As Patricia’s personal assistant and the person closest to her, Carly is pulled i to a world of deception and intrigue. The plan is originally for her to allow Brandon entrance to Patricia’s world by playing Carly’s boyfriend, but the lines between pretend and reality become blurred very quickly.
I loved Bran. He was the muscle in the group, but also the heart. He was selfless and endearing and so honest it hurt. He wanted to be loved and wanted and gave all of himself, asking very little in return. Typically when I read about those heroes that feel that the heroine deserves better than them, it makes me want to roll my eyes. But in this instance, Bran was so sincere, so damaged by his upbringing that he didn’t believe he deserved happiness although he desperately wanted it. He just made me love him and want things to work out. And Carly was perfect for him. She was innocent and sweet, a bit skeptical, but wanting to reach out and grab on with both hands when she was shown kindness. She didn’t give up on Brandon and I couldn’t help but adore that about her. She was dedicated to those she loved and would be the perfect match for a man that needed to be loved so badly.
The story was fast paced and the names of so many characters from past books waltzed their way in and out so I felt as if I was visiting old friends. And like all of Lexi Blake’s stories, it was smart and suspenseful. Just when I thought I had everything figured out, Ms. Blake comes in with a way to twist the story that I never saw coming. She is a master storyteller and I can’t wait to find out how the Lawless’ story ends. It’s sure to be just as amazing as Satisfaction was to read.
Shadow's Review:
When Brandon Lawless decides to strike out on his own to help his siblings take down his parents’ killers, he decides he isn’t going to be as ruthless as his brother Drew. When he picks someone to help break down Patricia Cain, he is honest about it. He targets her assistant, Carly Hendricks.
Carly has her own reasons for participating in the effort to bring her boss to justice. Cain is blackmailing Carly to stay on as her assistant by threatening her younger sister.
As Brandon begins working to discover Cain’s secret, he learns the biggest one is that Cain needs Carly in ways no one knows. It is Carly who makes things happen behind the scenes and on-screen and who does most of the work for the hostess. But when Carly is almost killed, the stakes become higher-and the question of whether or not Carly or Cain was the target means the entire effort is in jeopardy and Brandon discovers he has lost his heart to the beautiful woman with whom he is working. Can he and Carly find a way to ferret out Cain’s secrets while staying safe-especially with Cain’s stepson hoping Carly will sign on with him for a show of her own?
Carly is delightful. Capable, caring, and conscientious, she looks toward the future regardless of the struggles of her past. Brandon, in turn, learns from her that there is more to life than the desire for vengeance-and that with help, the past can remain behind, instead of scarring the future.
Expect some hot sex and some interesting plot twists and turns-as well as a set up for the third book in the series.
As always, author Lexi Blake focuses on the fact that family is not necessarily about blood relatives, but it is what you make it. Carly’s conversation with Ian Taggert is illuminating-and sidesplitting funny. Overall, this is a jewel in the author’s crown of contemporary romances.

Five Stars for Satisfaction. Brandon Lawless is one of the Lawless siblings. His life hasn't been easy but then none of theirs have and it's made them work even harder for what they want. What they want now is revenge. Revenge on the person responsible for killing their parents. But Brandon is taking big chances in the game of life... and he just may become the pawn. <---- That's my summary of this book. And I'm know known for writing blurbs or the like. But I will say, so far Bran is my favorite of the Lawless boys. He is H.O.T! He's determined and strong and learning that undercover work isn't as easy as it sounds. His chemistry with Carly is off the charts. They are the cutest couple. She's bet nerdy and nervous and he's a rough around the edges and total alpha male. Together they have just the right amount of spice for the reader to be more than satisfied!

The Lawless siblings have dealt with their parents’ deaths and subsequent upbringing differently, due to where they were placed in the system, in what they experienced due to that placement and what means they had to plan their revenge on a group of people that monumentally altered their lives in the worst ways possible.
In Ruthless, readers witnessed Riley Lawless put into motion his part of the plan by seducing, manipulating, and using Ellie Stratton, but in the end, Riley realized that his feelings for Ellie and her presence in his life was worth more than any information he could acquire from her as a pawn in his quest for revenge rather than his partner.
In Satisfaction, another person involved in death of the Lawless’ parents becomes the Lawless’ siblings target, and even though Drew was supposed to be on point for this phase of the plan, Bran refuses to allow another woman to be unknowingly used in their scheme, taking a risk of losing the “in” they need to take down Patricia Cane but also finding the woman who might just calm his rage and need for violence as well as help Bran to realize his past doesn’t have to define his present or destroy his future.
Lexi Blake does a fantastic job of fusing the romantic and suspenseful plot lines of the Lawless series together in such a seamless way that they exist as a single entity - both dependent on the other to move the storyline forward as well as explore how the love and support of a good woman can mean all the difference when it comes to moving on from a less than stellar past and a single-minded focus on revenge.
Bran Lawless is not like any of his siblings, which makes sense due to his experiences in foster care and his feelings of inadequacy and need for violence. He watched how everything played out between Riley and Ellie and what Riley’s lies almost cost him, so he goes about securing Carly Hendricks’ assistance in their revenge plot in an upfront and non-duplicitous way, which is absolutely the way to go because Carly had already been lied to and used by her ex-husband and continues to be manipulated by her boss, Patricia Cane.
But what Bran didn’t anticipate was wanting Carly for more than just a way in or as someone to warm his bed, and while he doesn’t believe they can have a future together due to the fact that he’s damaged goods and he doesn’t deserve her, the peace she gives him is something he finds essential to keeping his demons at bay for as long as she’ll have him.
Bran and Carly’s growing relationship as well as the plan to uncover proof of the players involved in their parents’ murder are intricately woven together and tell quite the story of loss, lust, love, and betrayal, providing readers with the necessary insight in order to understand why Bran sees himself as a lost cause and why Drew can’t let go of their plot of revenge regardless of the strain it seems to be putting on the Lawless siblings.
The chemistry between Bran and Carly and the way that they heal one another’s pasts, and Drew’s intelligence as well as his need to protect all of his siblings in any way he can are the two driving forces of Satisfaction, allowing Bran a way to recover from what happened to him and proving just how much the deaths of their parents as well as the dubious plot against them continues to wreak havoc on them and seems to twist and turn in ways none of them could have ever thought possible.
The truths revealed in Satisfaction definitely change things for the Lawless siblings, but what that means for Drew Lawless and his need for revenge is left unanswered and while there seems to be a clear path for him to follow…that path cannot be traversed without the help of an unlikely ally, and she might just be the one to knock Drew on his ass and have him living for so much more than the next phase in his plot to destroy all those involved in their parents murder.
