A splendid resource for all things Taco. My kitchen thanks you. Simple and easy to follow recipes
A NetGalley ARC

Another early request from NetGalley - when I first read this book years ago, we were a family who went out if we wanted to eat Mexican food. And while I believe I loved the options, I never got around to reviewing the book at that time.
Now in an effort to reduce my backload of books to be reviewed on NetGalley, I am getting these books from other sources, reading them - in this case, the parts applicable to me as a vegetarian, so I can provide a honest review. And given we are a family who has now moved to trying out and eating more cuisines at home, I wanted to check this out again.
Here is my review:
I love that the book includes many options for home made tortillas/tacos, including really cool ones like pink tortillas! I will be trying those out soon - the recipe is super simple. So I can venture into making these instead of using store-brought for my home-made fillings going forward.
Each recipe includes a short intro - which is sometimes history, and at others different types of facts about the recipe - the randomness of these facts is really interesting, like the farming concept of milpa in one, and the types of cookware used to cook these recipes in another.
The recipe itself is written with easy to follow steps and clear ingredient list; and followed by a list of accompaniments for this recipe. The recipes for those accompaniments, when needed, are spread across the book and the pages mentioned. How does a lemony mayonnaise sound?
It also includes additional recipes for quesadillas, sopes and tostados - with enough vegetarian varieties - towards the end; and breakfast and brunch ideas too!
In Summary: For fans of not just tacos, but Mexican food, this is a wonderful addition to the kitchen library. Note: if you are vegetarian, then it is just a part (almost one-third plus - which is pretty impressive) that you can use. There are also a couple other sections that vegetarians can refer to /use.
Disclaimer: Thank you to NetGalley for the initial eARC of the book and for introducing me to this book.
