I was disappointed in this book as the outline of the story sounded quite promising.
It didn't really hold my attention and I lost interest in it.
It is a sweet, story but very simple and predictable.

I liked this book by this author better than I liked the the first one I read, "The Hunter Bride" but I still wasn't engaged in the story. It seemed a bit juvenile and fast paced. I like more character development in my favorite books. I also felt that there were intimate details thrown into the story in order to make it more "desirable" but it just was a turnoff for me.
Bella was sold to a horrible man in order to satisfy her father's gambling debts and she was to become this man's wife. In order to protect Bella, her mother secretly helped Bella escape and become a Mail Order Bride in Montana.
Alex Hastings was a rancher from Montana whose wife had died tragically in an accident involving a spirited horse. He had twin girls who were four years old and who needed a mother's influence to help to mold and train them and to love them. Alex decided to place an ad for a mail order bride. Since he never expected to love anyone again like he loved his first wife, he didn't really care to find a wife in the traditional manner.
As Alex and Bella spend time together and get to know one another, they begin to have feelings for one another but could Alex ever love Bella as a husband loves a wife? Would Bella ever be able to be free from her past or would he past finally catch up to her?
I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
