The rating is more like 1.5 than 2 since Lowcountry Stranger by Ashley Farley for me is like soap-opera on steroids.

Imagine that an usual soap-opera, lets say Bold an Beautiful, that has about 200+ episodes one season, is shown in ten episodes. Within those ten episodes there is a wedding, couple of wedding crashers (one positive one negative), miracle recovery from not speaking almost a year, ending of an relationship, offering an shelter to a foundling, bank robbery, hostage situation, heart attack, emergency surgery, rushing to a hospital in another city, the foundling's secret is revealed, return of a long lost fiance, surprising family ties, alcoholic's relapse, stalker, need for a emergency transplant, funeral, kidnapping, another death, fostering, lovers reconciliations. And its all happening in one week! And if I understand it correctly, the first book of the series is the same, only almost every character in this book, was hospitalized or terrorized or kidnapped and they all suffer PTSD.

Not my kind of book. Too busy, too much over the top.

Great book, difficult at first to track the many characters but as I went further I couldn't put it down! The Sweeney family quickly felt like home.
