Melissa May's been happily married to her husband Gavin for over thirty years but he's just dropped a bombshell that will change their lives forever. Detective Adam Stanley has finally found out who was responsible for the hit and run of his wife and now he feels he can move on and build a relationship with Amanda who he met during his last case. Now he's investigating the murder of a plumber and a dentist and there doesn't seem to be anything to link the two victims although it seems to be the same perpetrator. Another man is killed by a hit and run driver and all the evidence leads to Gavin, Melissa's husband. Is he really guilty - Adam doesn't think he is although all his colleagues do. Enjoyable read even though I hadn't read the first in the series.
